Why does the sales matter so much ? its not about sales its about better games,

and like i said , Codemasters don't make Sim Racers so they have no grounds commenting on this at all.

also F1 2010 is hardly a sim racer.

wait they cant comment on a game because they dont make that type of game? then why are we commenting.?

thats not what i mean't, it doesn't really mke sense if you make  arcadey game and comparing it to a realistic sim game.

they're both different types of games, its like if one company sys their beat em up game is more appealing than an adventure game because its more appealing.

but they are both racers and they can be compared. also did they compare them at all?

In other words, crashing is exciting and driving is boring. There is some truth in that , a lot of people watch Nascar just to see crashes.

Forza 3 did do some things better than Gt5 yet this is true with every single sims including Iracing. Forza 3 gave you more tune and painting  options yet Gt5 has better physics especially RWD cars. GT5 tracks are bumpy while FM3 are smooth ,etc. F1 2010 does better to capturing F1 world, NFS:HP is better at  crash-dummy  racing.

i have to agree with the excitement that a hot pursuit game can give and the sensation of speed is great... but the excitement about precision driving and do a "over take" (i think this is the expression) in a tight corner with a good breaking job and take the inside and pass the opponent, that also have excitement, a different one but he is there. great that there are games for everyone, yeahhh

People are just upset because it doesn't have a boost button or shoots guns, maybe GT6 will feature a Zombie mode. ¬_¬

No people are upset because the game was hyped to infinity and took 6 years to come out, while in the same time Turn 10 put out Forza 2 and and Forza 3 the latter of which is arguably at least on par with GT5 if not better.

It took 5yrs, yes that doesn't make a whole lot of difference but it was people who overhyped it and as a result are disappointed, people never look at things with a level head, they expect sex on a stick and draw their own conclusions and when it doesn't meet their expectations, they call foul play.

I am genuinely serious when I say I've heard people say it fails because it lacks a boost button and guns. As for Forza 2/3, I'll stick to GT5 thanks, whether it's better or whatever is a non-issue for me, what matters is in GT5 I won't get anywhere near the 1000 car marks, nor will I complete A/B spec or the Arcade mode or any of the special challenges or the drift challenges-

Basically what I'm trying to say is, the amount of content and quality in this game is overwhelming.

But if you won't get anywhere near accessing most of the content how is that a plus?  I understand and agree GT5 is great but in terms of quality if it is better than Forza ( and at the moment thats a BIG if ) It sill took them waaay longer to make a bunch of content that 70% of buyers won't even access while Turn 10 put out two huge sims in the same amount of time.  GT5 is excellent, but certainly isn't close to matching the hype in my personal opinion.

I think  overall GT5 is a lot better than Forza 3 yet not in all areas. For example on the Test course I give it too much gas too early in the corner and my car did a 180 like I've seen IRL racing. It was cool watching the smoke rising from burning my tires. Awesome.

by your logic , i can compare Halo to sin and punishment, yeah they're both shooters.

Having both Forza 3 and GT5 I would say GT5 is better, just not in all aspect. But as a pure sim racer and a complete package, GT5 is better. The only aspect I can say Forza nailed, but not for me really because I never used it was the livery editor. I'm a car nut to the full, not really into slapping stickers and stuff on my car. But on topic What they deem boring I deem a masterpeice. As someone who goes to the track from time to time, they actually get the feeling of speed right, That blur effect isn't real and to me it isn't fun at all. I understand people have differences in what they like but for what I look for in a racing game, and what GT and to a lesser extent forza delivers... I'm a happy man.

The same can be said about the amount of content forza doesn't have which GT does. If the livery editor is something you loved, then yea it would seem like that but to people who don't care about that type of thing GT5 has a ton of content.

When you say 70 percent of the buyers won't access what exactly do you mean? Also GT5P was released in the past 5 years, which in my opinion is a better racing game then forza 3 is. Now granted it has no where near the content, and it wasn't ment to but as far as what PD has put out the past 5 years I have no complaints.

In no way amI bagging on Forza 3. I love the game, my second favorite 360 game behind Mass Effect and def top ten this Gen, But I think people get to caught up in what Forza does and what GT doesn't and sees it as a bad thing. To me they are two different games with different approaches trying to reach the same audience.
