Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 graphics aren't that impressive

i see the only owners of the game that praise it should be listened to. Those who are dissapointed are obviously lieing that they have it. Please explain how GT5 kills forza from a racing perspective. As in explain in detail your experiences with both games. Funny how a few days isn't enough playtime for reviewers to make negative judgements but is more then enough for owners to make positive ones.

Better then GT5p check.

Better then its competitiors check.

Iv yet to play on half the track, ill see if some are better then others.   But right now i see liitle to complain about, then again im judging form playing the game not going out of my way to find a fault.

Played Forza to death then have you?  I have played both and there is nothing in it, there really isnt.

Nothing what ?

From a racing perspective GT5 kills forza bud, though yes sure from a oh looks its pretty Forza is close to it.  To me Forza is for ricers types, GT is for automotive enthusiasts.

Its incredable that GT5 can make me feel simlar vibes that i feel when screwing around in my car in a empty wet parking lot.

arrogant much?

what makes you think I am not an automotive enthusiast... list the cars you've owned.. then I will list mine...

sensetive much.

Forza lovers love their big wings body kits and custom graphins, to Gt fans and automotive enthusiast that is useless and pointless. unavailable.

You can own a Ferrari and rice it out.  Car you own means nothing, what you do with it means everything.

Fixed.

lol ok.

I haven't seen it, but from what I gather, your sentiments aren't followed throughout. I'll have the game here in an hour or so, so I can judge it then. But for now, even reviews (most of them at least) haven't had too many bad things to say about the visuals.

Btw, where are the screenshots?

And mentioning the PC shows a bit of the problem right there.

Forget sentiments, just look at the facts :

GN RATINGS FOR GRAN TURISMO 5 (PS3)

RatingDescription
out of 10 Click here for ratings guide
7.0 Presentation
A cumbersome front-end and minimal, overlong loading screens hinder it, as do a series of other strange design choices.
9.0 Graphics
It's moments of sheer beauty ultimately outweigh the uglier ones, though sadly they don't quite outnumber them.
8.0 Sound
The visuals aren't met by the audio, and the engine notes lack grunt. The less said about the soundtrack the better.
9.0 Gameplay
For all its missteps in the single player mode it's still an unrivalled driving experience - and that's where it really counts.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
There's certainly not a paucity of content, and if any future patches can help streamline the online it could have serious legs.

I do believe I put MOST not ALL. Reading comprehension didn't work here .

Can't you ever admit you're wrong ?

Early metascores are almost systematically better in the earlier reviews than in the following. Very few sites as IGN have the "balls" to be frank as soon as the embargo is lifted.

You've spent too much time on gaming websites not to know that, tss tss

Explain how I was wrong?

I don't care for who has "balls" or not. The point is, most sites haven't had many bad things to say about it's graphics.

And you love to tell people what they should/shouldn't be or what they do, yet you have a track record on this site for causing trouble and adding nothing meaningful to any discussion. What's even better, you're defending a guy who hasn't even played the game, but places an absolute sentiment on it's visuals.

Personally, I'm willing to take the word of people like Scoobes, Kowenicki, and Ajescent. They have it and have been fair in their impressions.

Are you admitting something more Freudian ?

So now you are trying to generalize the term automotive enthusiast to mean just people who only care about the engine/gears/suspension/etc?

Poor thing.

The fact is, though, that GT5 was touted to be better than Forza 3 in graphics by a wide margin, which it simply isn't.  In fact it is downright uglier than Forza 3 in quite a few spots because at least Forza's level of graphics is pretty consistant throughout.  I'd rather have consistant quality over the quantity that GT5 has.

Other things, such as customization, damage, physics, sound, environments, are all better on Forza 3...  Quantity and the ability to look like real life was basically GT5's only trump card and it just didn't hold up to expectations it seems.

Want to find it out for yourself ?

whatever car you have or can get your hands on, drive the hell out of it for a while.  Now get that car in both GT and Forza and come to your own conclusions.

This is why I don't usually care to debate with you and likely won't in the future. You never keep on topic and always have some sly remark to put in place of an, already, flimsy argument.

At least I know my side remained consistent and you couldn't show me where I was wrong. So on that note, there's nothing more to see here.

Calm down and smile a little will you ? Just don't go out of proportion again. All I'm saying is this game has been confirmed as nothing exceptional graphically. The other qualities of this game are also debatable but it's another story/topic.

And if i've hurt your feeling I deeply apologize.

Nice jokes, forza fhysics are far inferior.

F3 only runs 8 cars, GT does 16 buddy, Ill take 16 cars on track over a 3d tree.

To everyone who has commented....

I am assuming you are all on a high quality 1080P hd tv... made by Sony, Samsung, LG, Phillips, or Sharp...

Otherwise.. don't bother commenting...

I saw this on a Sony Bravia 52" 1080P 240HZ display.. and couldn't tell it apart from real life.

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Despite popular belief I am a Sony supporter but I'm not a fanboy. The visuals in the game are a letdown on certain areas. On some parts you look at it and say wow but on others it looks like a PS2 game. Now I know why they only had the Night level with rain on display at the PS hub because that is breathtaking.

Still reguardless of what I said the game still is the best looking game I've played this year with Castlevania giving it some very strong competition. I know this message will get some hate but I'm only stating the truth. Other than that the games fun but the constant installs even after the 8GB install that took an hour to complete gets annoying as hell. Honestly if I was a reviewer I too would mark the game down because of the installs alone. Its no wonder the games not getting great reviews

I didn't realize the number of cars had anything to do with physics.  The damage, handling, and other areas where physics is necessarily has pretty much always been a stronger suit of Forza and remains so.
