Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 graphics aren't that impressive

He wasn't working on visuals this whole time. It's really apparent what he's been doing. There's so much content in this game it's not even funny.

Content which bogged down development and most users will never touch more than 25% of it.

Tease.

Despite popular belief I am a Sony supporter but I'm not a fanboy. The visuals in the game are a letdown on certain areas. On some parts you look at it and say wow but on others it looks like a PS2 game. Now I know why they only had the Night level with rain on display at the PS hub because that is breathtaking.

Still reguardless of what I said the game still is the best looking game I've played this year with Castlevania giving it some very strong competition. I know this message will get some hate but I'm only stating the truth. Other than that the games fun but the constant installs even after the 8GB install that took an hour to complete gets annoying as hell. Honestly if I was a reviewer I too would mark the game down because of the installs alone. Its no wonder the games not getting great reviews

Oh wow, I thought my PS3 was buggy or something. Why does it stop at 6 GB instead of installing the whole 8 GB?

Also yeah, the trees are indeed extremely bad, but like someone else said, I prefer having 16 players online than 3D trees... even though I might never touch the online!

Oh, and I know what I'm about to add is a bit off-topic, but can I mention that the UI is incredibly confusing for a casual racing sim fan like myself? I understand a GT fan or someone that followed every news about the game wouldn't have any problem navigating through all the new stuff... but having a little quick menu in the game certainly wouldn't have hurt!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

the best way, 6 hours games with online multiplayer, without forgetting the zombie driving over people mode. Too much content espacially for those who don't plan on getting it.

They have enough content now for each year they missed.

I'm not sure, which option did you select. I think theres two install choices, An 8GB one and a 6.4 GB one. I know mine installed 8.2 GBs because I checked the game data on my PS3. The only problems I had with the install is the estimated timer stayed at 20 minutes until completion.

Also yeah mate the menus in the game are all over the place but you do get used to them and I spent an hour configuring the options to my liking because I didn't understand what half of them did.  I also spent another hour trying to figure out how to play Custom music from the XMB. The user manual mentions nothing about it.

I think the option to add 3D is whats messing up the graphics.

Anyone had the pleasure to test it in 3D ?

It actually is a little inconsistent but the pictures posted from, sieanr are horrible and extremly ugly like GT 4  in HD and dont represent the game at all.

Sometimes its stunning, really pretty but the limitations of the PS3 and Xbox 360 are becoming more and more visible. We need a new gen soon. Some 12 core CPU and a Geforce GTX 580 level graphics card will finally do the trick and deliever the hardware for the perfect GT.

I wanted to read the posts in this thread but since I haven't bought the game yet I am afraid I will run into some spoilers. Are there story spoilers in here or is it's safe to read?

non that i've seen

I was under the impression that its graphics were nothing to write home about through trailers. Some people are saying this over and over again, but i'll know when I have my copy, sometime in the near future.

I can tell you that I have more than enough graphic wise playing Dirt 2 with my  AMD Athon II X4 635 Processor and my ATI Radeon HD 5750 (pretty good but nothing to expensive, just average these days).

That's how far PC graphics are compared to consoles sadly.

For ps3/x360 GT5 looks great, for pc standard hmm it barely keeps it own.
