Well, after watching the videos and what-not, the game just seems to be... dull.  Weak sensation of speed, inconsistent graphical quality, lots of cars with no apparent damage modeling.  Hot Pursuit is just so much sexier!

great review!

No sense in defending the game anymore Rock. This is exactly the type of crap I predicted would happen. I just hope for their sake that the game flops miserably, or the bookmarks will come in many flavors of bird.

Har har.  Obviously I haven't played it yet, but my point was that it's not really making me want to.

I don't have a good feeling about the reviews though, it's FXIII all  over gain. But will sell anayway.

I don't know, I think we're dooming too early. The big guys are the ones who I wonder about (remember, a lot of the chatter right now is judging a game with out it's biggest component: online). I want to know how the entire package holds up.

Weak sensation of speed present in GT5 is a realistic representation of what it really looks like, though.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

to all :

jeuxvideo.com is the most imporant website in term of traffic even if it is not the best one

but, I must say, this review become a joke when their start talking about the "bad" GT5 physics when it is actually superior to any other console racers ...

Whha GT has never been about "Great Physics"...Remember playing dodgems around the inside of every tight bend when the races were tough.

GT is about rising above its imperfections and what it aspires to be, more than what it actually is.

Anyhoo I'm going to wait for all the reviews to be in.

I've heard all sorts of comments flying around from "It's a Jagfest" to "The most beautiful console game ever".

Its what you make of it that counts.

Never been about great physics??? Are you serious?  Gran Turismo has like everything perfected to make it so even the slightest changes to a car will make it handle exactly how that car would handle in real life.

Handle like in real life? Do you have a sports car?

I suppose so.  I guess that just doesn't have as much appeal for me as the stuff Criterion puts out.  What really bothers me is the disparity between "standard" and "premium" models, specifically in the realm of damage modeling.  The whole "bumper cars" thing seems to really fly in the face of the "realism" the game claims to strive for.

Can we just wait for the actual reviews tomorrow morning once the embargo is lifted?

I'm a 360 fan but I highly doubt it's that bad. I expect tomorrow to see top notch reviews for the game. Maybe a few 10/10. IF not what the f did they do.
