I blame the casuals.

No, all the blame should go to Activision.

It'll probably go on hiatus until the next generation when people start to need / want to buy new software and peripherals.

Thats what happens when you have different companies milking the same style of game to death. My brother enjoys them, but even he has stopped bothering with them.

i wouldn't call Rockband 3 result of milking its packed with content and new ideas.

There is definitely alot of risk in casual gaming.  Trends go in and out very easily.  It's like clothing styles - you really have to hit it right at the right time and place.

This have nothing to do with it, they just milked the genre to death.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Did I gave you permission to disagree with me?

permission? O.o

Thank you Activision.  I only hope your 3 Call of Duty games in a year can do the same to the FPS market.

They over-saturated the market and unnecessarily complicated the games.

It was a casual experience they redefined as hardcore in an attempt to force realism where it shouldn't have existed in the first place. People want to play real instruments, will buy a real instrument.

They should have focused on the core simple casual experience and focused on Wii development from day one vs gimping the primary casual base.

Yes, after all, I'm your master.

People with lives other than games don't feel the need to keep buying the same type of games over and over.  One has to wonder if the FPS genre is going to hit the wall like this at some point.
