How can Wii go up by almost 50% with no major release? Isn't Nintendo bount by the laws of physics or something?

red wii and the usual holiday boost? What's wrong with wii going up?

You should change that comparison in the bottom of your sig, PS2 severely undertracked on VGChartz, it's more like 146 million(so a difference of over 10 million).

@tetres: I know, but still it amazes my how they pull it off to sell so well every holiday, over and over again.

Then why hasn't Vgchartz corrected it, I will get to it soon.

Why don't they track all PC sales? They just don't feel like it I guess.

Too much work I guess and I think Vgchartz is more revolved around consoles.

So once Japan comes in:

360: 443k

DS: 442k

Wii: 417k

PS3: 372k

PSP: 155k

Amazing opening for Black Ops. I can't believe it almost hit 2 million on PS3. Close to 4 million with Japan sales. Amazing HW all around.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

That is the only surprise for me this week.

Everyone else had great sales (except PSP).

PS2 is probably selling well in the regions that VGChartz is having difficulty to track, the same regions that caused the rather large PS3 adjustment not to long ago. That or they're to busy with the ''current generation'', while PS2 is still selling well, more than PSP for example.

VGChartz posted the shipment numbers here themselves: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/82596/big-three-shipment-update-through-september-2010/

PS2 was already at 147.6m shipped by the end of september, over 12 million ahead of the DS at 135.58m. And stores are not going to stock 12 million units of a 10 year old console....

But Sony will probably release some kind of press notice when it gets to 150m, who knows could even happen by the end of the year.

I still expect DS to cnarrow the gap later this year and PS2 is at like 150M and DS 144.3M, then the gap will carry on to narrow.
