Nintendo has revealed a new component from The Last Story team, he is Nobou Uematsu. He is known for its work in Final Fantasy series.

Uematsu and Sakaguchi have done almost 40 songs for the game.

40 songs is low... alteast compared to what he used to do though, is he the sole composer. he did 56 for lost odyssey, andatleast  80 plus I think for FF7-10(with help with 10's but still 80 I think anyways's ) going into the 100's for FF9. FFXIV (the latest FF he did) is a gazillion. And the already fantastic xenoblade sountrack which is 91.

If a single one of them is any good that will make it infinitely better than FFXIV's soundtrack for me. Even though that has many more songs.

yes, but that's not necessarily saying a whole bunch. But I think it will be better... because of it being based more on a story game. than kill the blue dragon! But still... I've been dissapointed with 2/3 of his recent soundtracks, so i'm no hymoptized yet is all. And still I'd rather length and quality than short and quality.

Yes, but it's literally just the person who writes something down, not the person who created it.  You're looking for "composer."

It's also a visual effects person who puts the cool stuff into the film and does adjustments.
