Well I've seen when Amazon US have their Golden deals they have a page with countdowns and clues to what the next item will be, so hopefully the UK will do that

I'm all for great deals but why bother with black friday?

Thats an American thing. Why not simply give a name to the Monday when most sales are made in the uk. I forget when it is.
