Most major reviewers place FF VI higher than FF FVII, so to call FFVII "immensely" better than VI is probably not correct in a lot of people's eyes.  FF VI is generally reviewed higher than VII.  VII sold a lot more due to reasons other than quality.

Thats reviews, not the mainstream public.

Since when has the mainstream public been right about the quality of a game?  Last time I checked Black Ops was the fastest selling game of all time.  It's totally cool if you have a different opinion as mine, just admit it as such.

My argument wasn't that FF VII sold more, it was that it wasn't a higher quality game than VI.

Thats a different matter entirely, with FF7 im not on about the sales, the general gaming public as a whole see's it as one of the best games of all time. On the GameFAQs best game of all time in 2009 it came second out of hundreds of games.

Its clearly the more well liked game to the public despite it selling more.

That's fine, but my original argument was with your statement that FF VII was immensely better than it's previous game, which I disagreed with, as do a lot of people, including many reviewers.

Uncharted 3 could technically be worse than Uncharted 2, but sell more due to popularity with the series, or PS3 picking up steam, or due to a variety of other factors.  I hope this isn't the case, cause I want UC3 to kick major ass.

I merely disagreed with you on one title, and that's it.  If you like FF VII more than VI, that's okay, it's still a good game, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  I just disagreed with you, and used reviewers as an example to show that quality isn't always the case as far a game sales go.

If you want to go with mainstream popularity exclusively, then obviously the best selling games are the best, because they've sold the most, and that would in deed make them the best to the mainstream, I just see things differently.

FABLE it has not got the Nintendo size sales or the Mass Effect type reviews. All the FABLE games on metacritic are in the 80's so they are not universally loved or nothing. Though they do really innovate I don't think they have been able to successfully make the game mechanics into a cohesive single unit although in FABLE III I believe they came quite dame close. The games usually feel like I am playing two games. There is the Action adventure RPG and then there is the SIMS GTA in OLD UK feel type game. Both are very fun they just dont mesh completely together yet. 

If they really do implement milo game mechanics into the next FABLE and improve the cohesiveness of the other mechanics, and polish it as much as a GT game I think it could be the Best non Pokemon rpg since FFVII.

Considering how well fallout is selling being a glitchy mess thats almost unplayable at times, I could see it becoming really big next gen if Bethesda or Obsidian or whoever can make a fallout with nondated graphics, few glitches, bareable third person mode, and decent fps combat while retaining its epic scale.
