Overall advantage = Americas by 99,112

And this is with 360 riding high from the slim redesign and even coming close to the Wii's YTD total. Now the advantage has swung slightly in Americas favor with Kinect out but that will likely be cancelled or reversed once GT5 comes out. Which territory will hold the advantage at the end of the year? It will probably be in 360's favor in Americas but I don't think by a whole lot. Probably less than 50k. It's also worth noting that this is at least partially due to the fact that the 360 has been performing very poorly so far this year in Japan, even worse than it used to. It will likely end the year down almost 40% YOY in that region.

All depends on next year my friend imo, i had no idea that JP offset the NA dominance by that much, because the result is significant. however for some reason PS3 just inst as popular in NA, maybe next year will change that with all the exclusives, but the only region were PS3 has dissappointing sales imo is NA.

and if exclusives like GT5 or Killzone 3, can capture just a slightly stronger market in NA than it has at the moment then it will happen as a virtual tie imo.

Japan isn't interested in Kinnect and those who are are part of an already small 360 install base.

Japan will go wild when GT5 comes out and that will just settle it.

Christmas is always far bigger in west so I guess America will hold the advantage at the end of the year. Volumes are just so much bigger in America during christmas period that X360 advantage in America will be bigger in terms of units compared to PS3 advantage in Japan.

They have the worst attach ratios. Part of the reason why Xbox 360 software sales are significantly higher.

Also, they have generally horrible taste in games. Hence, they keep supporting horrible games.

The PS3 and 360 were neck and neck until the slim launched and 360 took over. Imagine if the slim 360 hadn't launched, would the PS3 be over 360 this year in America?

Last year 360 and PS3 were virtually tied from Black Friday to New Years in Americas. The gap in Japan was 625k. This year the gap in Japan will likely be the same or marginally smaller. 360 will likely win in Americas this year but with GT5 coming I don't think it will be by a 500k margin. In fact I wouldn't even say 360 has BF locked down.
