Is it me, or is there no hype on VGC about Call Of Duty: Black Ops? Did I miss something?

On Twitter #blackops was the #1 trending topic for most of the day, it was on the frontpage of many mainstream press sites, on NeoGaf there's a 90 page official thread...

But on VGC the only Black Ops thread on the frontpage is about the Wii version and the gamepages have only 3 replies...

What's going on?

The people who are mostly hyped for black ops are the casuals.

Everybody Hates Activision...not enough not to purchase their games, but just enough not to give it any hype... at least publicly

It's Call of Duty.  Most people aren't that excited about it anymore, outside of the "brocore" CoD/GTA/Madden crowd.

Even on gaf, with its 90 page thread, the hype is at a minimum.  The Killzone 3 beta thread is at 120 pages and counting, for comparison, and Halo: Reach's second official thread (first one had to be locked because it was too long!) is still going strong, with over 100 posts (> 2 pages) just today.

Call of Duty reached incredible heights with Modern Warfare, but it's recieved too many sub-par sequels in in too short a timeframe for for most hardcore gamers to continue to continue to care.

Guy in my Lifespan class came in on 2hours sleep because of this game. The class does not start till 1pm
