Forums - Sony Discussion - Why is Uncharted 2 so good

To sum it up in one sentence, great game that lived up to all expectations. If you saw a movie with a story like Uncharted at the theatre, chances are you would already own 3 copies of the DVD, and 2 Blu-rays.

What the hell? WHo would buy 3 DVDs and 2 Blu Rays of the same movie?  And no, it din't live to all my expectations. You're just saying as you are everybody and therefore everyone liked it. I already said that it has zero replay value but no one listens and continues to discuss other things just to see if everyone forgets about what I said and ignore the flaws the game has.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Why is Uncharted 2 so good?

Because whilst it doesn't really do anything new, it does what it does as close to perfection as is physically possible.

SMG has the most amazing, realistic and original story ever.

zero replay value to you, but to most people replaying with different difficulty levels makes the game different enough to be worth a few goes.  I've personally played it through about 4 times: one normal, one hard, and twice on crushing.  I would say U2 has as much or more replay value than your average linear game.

Not to mention the online cooperative and competitive multiplayer which adds on to the value of the game.

The fact I still play the MP a year after it was released (and I bought it day one) suggests that you sir are wrong.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Well I guess that to the people who argue that you're not trying to make a movie, that might be good?  Games can boast other things movies can't, like interactivity.  And also, are there that many action movies that destroy Uncharted's plot? Because those movies often seem to have meh plots, and they can't make up for it by letting YOU shoot people in the face or jumping off cliffs, etc.  :D

So why I play it every week???

And the multiplayer has infinite replay value.

PS. You are Brazilian... COOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VGC BRA Domination!!!

I was actually really surprised at how well Naughty Dog made the multiplayer for Uncharted 2.  I have a few friends who actually enjoy the MP portion of the game better than the single player campaign (not me of course, I dig both).
