Forums - Sony Discussion - GOW - Ghost of Sparta: Impressions

NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

SO who got the game? I'm few hours into it now and I have to say just WOW! THis game kicks major butt.

Graphics: Top Notch, the best on a handheld easily..great envronments, character design

Gameplay: Fluid, not too difficult puzzles, some nice platforming segments, overall impressive level design from R@D

Fighting/combat: Fluid and easy to jump in and the get going (especially if you are familiar with past games of the series)..learning combos really is rewarding. And most of all, as usual, a LOT of Fun!!!! oh yea weapons offer some good veriety too so far and I heard it gets better too, Thera's Bane is epic WIN

Story: Not gonna spoil it for ya'all who haven't played it yet, but Kratos shows some truly genuin emotions here, other than Anger. Overall story is very interesting and is going smoothly so far.

So far soooooo good. Highly recommended

Who else got it and what your feedback of it?

if comparing to chains of olympia

Ghost of sparta has a deeper story telling

in terms of graphics its more solid looking

same goes for soundtrack.

the game play this time is more fluid.

My cousin has the Ghost of Sparta PSP which he bought for me ! Now I just need to find a way to get it, all the way from America :/

It's amazing. I just completed it a couple of days ago. Overall, much better than Chains of Olympus.

Graphics are ridiculously good for a handheld. I was absolutely amazed by what they managed to acheive on the PSP.

Gameplay is far more fluid with some brilliant weaponry and magic attacks that are actually very useful (agree with OP on Theras Bane).

More stuff to do (challenges etc.) after completing the game than Chains of Olympus.

The storyline was covered very nicely. It's a bridge between GoW1 & 2 and I actually feel it makes it easier to relate to Kratos.

Soundtrack is very good and fits well with the game. I downloaded it on PSN early so now have the soundtrack on my PS3 as well as the GoW theme.

The only slight downside is I think the puzzles can sometimes be a bit too easy, but this also prevents frustration, so perhaps it's also a plus.

Overall, one of the best games out on PSP or any handheld for that matter. I actually prefer it to GoW1.

Agree on the puzzles, they can be a bit too easy for sure....I'm not a big fan of puzzles in action games anyways so I don't mind personally

I got all the weapons now, love the diversity. Unlike in chains of Olympus (where I used only two of the weapons almost all the way) I find myself using almost all the weapons in this game.

I do miss Efreet tho..I LOVED that weapon in the original

Wait... D:< You're complaining about GoW:GoS sales and you only bought 'ONE' copy!??!!!You... you... AGH! TRANNY FUCKIKNG WWERDERFIODNON!!!!! (Rage out)

This is not how you support a game. For example, I went to the store and said I'll take GoW:GoS and they said, "they're right over there" and I responded, "All of them" (They did not understand, so that's when the gun came out) You get the point

I actually did buy it for my PSP owning cousin living in the UK using my PSN money.

So that'd be 2 copies.

And did you pay for those copies ?

It's pretty good. Has the best story of the series IMO but it feels so linear for some reason (that reason being that it is)

IDK but God of War 3 is just so much better level-wise that I was having a tough time getting into this one. I feel so guided without the pseudo exploration that the console games gave me. Weapon variety also suck ass being that there isn't any. I wish they would've gave something other than the spear because that thing is hopeless.

Regardless, it's awesome on the first playthrough and you should buy it. Therea's bane = one of the most bad ass things in the series (FACT)

Yes. I robbed a bank just for that purpose
