Forums - Sony Discussion - Why does Sony continue to abuse the PSP brand?

I don't under-stand people who say the "PSP is a failure", I mean it's sold over 60 million units, how can you seriously deem a handheld or console for that matter a "failure" if its been able to sell over 60 million units?

Its even more impressive on SONYs part by the fact that this was their first every venture into the handheld market which has & still is dominated by Nintendo.

Its always offered a differnt kind of experince than the DS. Me personally speaking, the PSP has always been the handheld better suited for my gaming needs, taking nothing away from the DS, its a great system in its own rights, it just simply dosen't appeal to me as much as the PSP does, that was never more evident than last night, when I completed God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta. The gameplay, graphics, the storyline, the soundtrack, just everything about it was fantastic, a technical marvel, it honestly blew me away, I doubt a game on the DS would be able to do that for me.

If I sold 60mil of anything I would be proud.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

yuo blieve too much of the bullcrap that is out there

try to see behind the material things and meaning behind it

Sony has more interest in Ps3 because it's usefull to them not only as gaming consoles, but they use it push the consumer interest into their other products like TV HD, TV 3D, Blu-ray movies, etc. That's why imo, with Ps3 they care more about market shares, than about profit. The PSP, it's only a gaming console for them, since the UMD experiment laready failed, so it hasn't got as much priority atm.

Also, I agree with the other guys up there, PSP is not a failure, also we don't know how PSPhone or PSP2 will do.

Your post is saddening... I'm not gonna say why.

How anyone can call a 60 million selling console a FAILURE is beyond me,

They could look at it's software sales.
