Yeah I wouldn't compare Size Matters with this game at all. A Crack In Time has a great story with several quadrants to travel to with multiple planets in each. The game is much bigger and the weapons are cooler.

@The Sly Collection, I have only played the first Sly Cooper and it was a decent platformer but I favor the Ratchet and Clank series a little more.

Uncharted 2 got GOTY awards for a reason, the game is awesome!

Is the gameplay any different? He is very picky and if he doesn't like 1 thing in a game then he might not play it...Is there much to do after you have beaten it once?

So, he likes the games based on the dude in your picture(Snake) Is Uncharted 2 as good or similar to M.G.S...he beat all 4 of the M.G.S games at least 3 times.

You might need to consider Katamari Forever. It's really good , espacially if you never tried previous Katamri games. Plus it costs less than 20 bucks on amazon.

Sorry, I have yet to read the 2 last posts but I will read them and be back on tomorrow.

Please keep posting and giving me as many ideas for games as possible...with as much detail as possible...and please remember to explain if its long, creative, gives you something to do even after being beat, and good. I know I may be asking for a bit but the more information and options the better!

Thanks in advance to all who post and help!

Going by your descriptions, LittleBigPlanet 2 looks to be the best fit and would've been a great Christmas present but unfortunately won't be out by then.

So here are some alternatives I can think of:

LittleBigPlanet: The game is one of a kind. Use your creativitiy to create awesome levels and share with everyone around the world. This game will last you for a good deal. Plus if you happen to buy the DLC packs, they will all translate into LBP2, which is a major plus so that it means that you haven't wasted money on them and carry over to LBP 2.

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves: It's 2009's definitive Game of the Year for several reasons.

1) Best Action Adventure Game out on Consoles. It's the perfect blend of action, story telling and compelling characters.

2) Still hailed as Graphics King on Consoles.

3) The single player is so good that it'll make you wanna play it over again and again.

4) Multiplayer is solid and the Co OP is done really well, so that'll last long after playing the SP over and over again :D/

I could go on but it'll be too long to list.

If he likes RPGs, I recommend Fallout 3, Dragon Age Origins and FInal Fantasy XIII. They're all really long games and have a lot of replayability. Get the Fallout 3 GOTY Edition or the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, which both contains massive DLC packs that are worth the investment.

If he likes Racing Games, Gran Turismo 5 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit are games to get this Holiday as well.

if he's into kart racing and then i suggest Modnation Racers...awesome gaming and tons of creating stuff option . Its LBP of cart racing

How old is he ?

What kind of games does he like ?

Depending on those, my answers will change.

When I think PS3; I think God of War III (and Collection), Uncharted 1/2, LBP (With a much better sequel coming), MGS4, Ratchet, Killzone and inFAMOUS. They're all fantastic games.

Don't buy LittleBigPlanet.

Don't get me wrong, 'tis unarguably one of the best games on the system. But the sequel will be released almost immediately after Christmas, and by the looks of it, will be vastly superior to the original.

I've got no idea what kinds of games he likes, but if I were him, I'd want to get one of these games as a present:

Bioshock

Street Fighter IV

Red Dead Redemption

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Assassin's Creed II

or Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. (But I think you mentioned, that he has already played & completed that one.)

On topic....Modnation Racers, LittleBigPlanet and Katamari Forever are the main games I can think of off hand that offer some "creativity." Of course I'm tired right now so I don't have great ideas hahah.

Foiled again...I just noticed all of my responses have been suggested. lol

Katamari Forever sound familiar...isn't that the game similar to Noby Noby Boy or something?

Noby Noby Boy he got and laughed at Lol...he said that it was one of the stupidest games he ever played...but he somehow liked it and played it for a decent amount of time for a network game.

So, I may give it a shot please explain more about Katamari Forever...length, what you do...

Hows olds your brother, young or in his teens. i think all younger gamers at the moment would love uncharted 1 and 2, but if hes older i would highly recommend bayonetta.

Uncharted 2

Wipeout HD/Fury

Yakuza 3

He has Flower and liked it... he doesn't like racing games much...

What is good about Yakuza 3? How long is it? What do you do? Please explain.

So basically you're a former Yakuza boss who decided to call it a day so he can run an orphanage but shit gets real when the guy who you chose to be your replacement gets shot and you are asked to come back into action and kick ass and chew bubble gum.

It's basically an openworld RPG (regardless of what anyone else here says ¬_¬) main quest is about 20-30hrs but after your first playthrough, you'll probably only have about 4% completion rate and you are free to roam the cities once you've completed the game or retry on a harder difficulty setting. There's acres of activities to do.

Bowling

Fishing

Dating

Kareoke

Arcades

Amongst other things.

posibilities are endless with this one.

He likes games where you can do almost whatever you want whenever you want like Animal Crossing for the DS/Wii. He likes games where you don't have to do one thing to get to another...he likes to go at his own pace. Will he get board with this game easy? If he gets stuck and can't beat a part he may stop playing so will that be a problem?
