I agree on Midna, but she still shouldn't make a top 30. Those 200 Fire Emblem characters shouldn't make a top 100 :P

I find the lack of Marcus Fenix disturbing as well. This is Top 30 Characters Who Defined A Decade after all.

And should characters from 2010 really be included in a list with last decade characters? Last decade is 2000-2009, right?

There was no year 0, so the last decade started in 2001. This makes Game Informer at least more competent than the 20 or so publications that did "game of the decade" awards last year like morons.
