I can't quite place this. You list all very popular shows with very high 'critic reviews' but I find hate for the ones you like much more common (speaking of FMA and Death Note). Interesting.

hmm.. interesting to see that some people hold Outlaw Star in such high regards - I liked the show, but I didn't feel it was that extraordinary in any way.

Well, Cowboy Bebop is absolutely amazing, but on a subjective/personal level I enjoyed some other animes more.

hehe, what's so awful about it ? I thought it was a quite entertaining action anime and I like the opening song, although it's probably in the most hilarious engrish I've ever heard ;).

20th century boys was amazing up until the last 2 volumes... monster is absolutely phenomenal and i've read about 70 chapters!

20th century boys and Monster are really amazing mangas I love them but I do feel that both went a little too long and the ending wasn't that satisfactory.

Well, Cowboy Bebop is absolutely amazing, but on a subjective/personal level I enjoyed some other animes more.

I loved Outlaw Star, mainly because it was one of the first Animes I have ever watched. Also might as well mention Tenchi Muyo, complete and utter classic. Another classic? Trigun, fantastic anime. Also I'm a big fan of FLCL, even though it was tremendously short.

And Cowboy Bebop for me is the best because of what it achieved in the anime world at the time, and the aspects that make it great, once again I don't feel like getting into the details, but allot of critical reviews explain it better than I could anywhos.

I tried watching the dub of this on Hulu but the voice acting was pretty shoddy and killed the seriousness so I stopped after 5 minutes so I wouldn't get a bad impression of it.

I think you find the hate for the ones I like more common because they're mainstream. Both of those got aired on Adult Swim, and you can find some of their products in Hot Topic, etc. I don't remember seeing any merchandise from the ones I don't like in the mall. Same goes for a TV airing. I had to watch those online. I stopped watching Gurran Lagann after ep. 3.
