I think its a combo of both actually. I dont think we'll ever see a FPS on Wii do COD #s on PS360, but the good ones can do a mil or more

And Activision at least doesn't look at a million copies sold on a lower budget system and then act as though that isn't good enough.

@lordtheknight thats very true, but in some Publishers defense, I can see how they would be discouraged by Wii seeing as they have twice the install base of a single HD console but the FPS on those HDs do about 5mil on each HD (COD) but a Wii FPS does about 1mil. Im not excusing some of the actions but I could see how some might think that not supporting Wii with that type of game is the way to go.

The problem is them assuming that a) 5 million is the norm for FPS on those systems (only Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears (since TPS are very close to FPS) have sold that many on those systems), that b) 1 million is the cap for Wii customers of those games (although we've discussed already why it doesn't work that way), and that c) despite lower budgets the profit margin for a million is somehow worse on the Wii than one to two million on the other systems (the Medal of Honor reboot will likely outsell Goldeney in the long run, but will likely make less money in that time).
In short, I see those assumptions, but that doesn't make them right or sensible. It just looks like the excuses they are telling themselves.

what your saying is making sense, but I digress alot of decent shooters do at least close to a mil. when I said 5 I was just throwing a # out there. As for profit margins, neither of us work in the industry so we really dont know what makes what. It is ironic that MOH is still respectable numbers even after negative press, but the Wii MOHs have not done that well.

Well there haven't been that many on the Wii in the first place. It had about two or three.
Also, the reports of massive losses and budgets just make it easy to surmise the profit margins are lower.
Anyway, new sales are in, and barring massive changes from NPD (hopefully for the better), this game ends the year with a healthy 850K, even after the post Christmas drop, and should reach a million by February.

GE is a great. Haven't played BO but looks fun. I hope that the next MW is also released on the Wii but I doubt it.

Well 2 is likely coming, as Treyarch does seem to be determined to get as much on the Wii versions as the HD versions eventually.

That list goes a week short for one, and two weeks short for another. Perhaps we should adjust that properly in a couple weeks.
And Oniyide, I forgot. EA actually said the the new MoH would have to sell 3-4 million just to make a profit.
