Amazon has them in stock, and i dont think walmart even offers the standard $150 online do they?

I haven't seen the 149 on walmart yet and it does look like walmart and amazon are back in stock of the stand alone units

I hope amazon at least can keep them in stock so those asshats trying to mark them up never sell them.

A lot of hate in this thread.  Mind you there seems to be a lot of hate for any thread that seems positive for 360.

Kowenicki has at least looked at several sites and backed that up with links.  It's not like he's saying I walked into my local Toys 'R' us and it was sold out therefore sales are massive.  Don't forget VGChartz bases it's estimates on samples as well, and we all rely on this site to check how the consoles are doing.

Going by Microsoft's projections and this early information I expect Kinect to sell well.

We don't have long to wait to see how it all pans out, but it's nice to see some early confirmation of how sales are going.

" the new $150 device began disappearing from store shelves as soon as it went on sale Thursday, as strong first-day sales helped boost forecasts for Kinect's holiday sales.

"We've seen a tremendous amount of excitement and demand for (Kinect) and saw lines at our midnight openings around the country," said Best Buy's (BBY) Chris Homeister. "We are currently sold out online, but we continue to work with Microsoft to obtain product shipments now and throughout the holiday season."

Abundant customer pre-orders led Microsoft to increase its estimates for Kinect sales this year from 3 million to 5 million. That has led some analysts to raise their expectations, too. "Microsoft (MSFT) apparently has good vibes from retail," said analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities, who increased his forecast from 2 million Xbox 360-Kinect bundles and 1 million stand-alone Kinect sensors to 2.5 million and 2 million, respectively. "They expect sellouts."

That's already happening. Online retailer Amazon.com (AMZN) and GameStop.com (GME) were sold out of the Kinect sensor (Kinect Adventures game included), but had complete Xbox 360 systems packaged ($300 and up) with the new sensor and game in stock. Some bricks-and-mortar stores had Kinect systems available; others sold out by late morning.

Target (TGT) experienced "very strong pre-sales" for Kinect, selling out of the Kinect sensor and the 250-gigabyte Xbox 360-Kinect bundle ($400) at its online store, spokeswoman Tara Schlosser said.

Walmart.com(WMT) and its stores had Kinect on hand, but "there is going to be very high demand for these products," said the retailer's Ravi Jarawala. "We will continue to restock throughout the season."

Newfangled video game features could give the video game industry a needed boost going into the holiday shopping season."

"Temporarily out of stock" again on Amazon.

Im not really sure of what this means in any meaningful way. Since we don't have stock numbers we cannot really say how many Kinect modules that were shipped and imply the sold numbers from that. Its very easy to do a soft launch and then instantly sell out of all of the limited quantities of stock. However on the other hand if the launch is a hard launch with ample supply then it is also very easy to not go out of stock whilst selling millions of modules and bundles.

All we have are indications of strong demand, so obviously you take take heart in that. What we don't have is anything remotely like proof. Even a Brett comment at this juncture would be more useful because thats based on actual data even if it is incomplete at this point.

Exactly this.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

good job, ms. i'd like to see kinect's success and then developers will try think of new ideas of using the motion sensing camara. it will benefit the entire industry.

these online sites don't usually sell out, do they?

We don't know how many consoles they've sold, but being sold out of kinect is news.  5m sold by end of the year sounds far fectched, but if these online stores are selling out, then maybe ms is right.  I, for one, am very excited.
