So, this means we get buttons and no pew pew? What is Kevin Butler going to say now?

how long have you known this? One was where you were arguing that One was a thread by richardhutnik asking how MS was going to convert kinect users to core users using the idea that nintendo converted casuals to core because of the controller itself. Getting users started with simple motion controls would lead to holding a controller in the traditional way. You said you had no idea, and then defended it by saying nintendo hasn't converted many anyways. Then in another thread, you said that ps move wouldn't sell as much as kinect because core gamers would stick to the standard controller. |
Even if they do come out with hybrid games, I am still pressed to think how they will convert casual into core players. The Wiimote is like a less complicated remote, and it gets non-gamers used to the control. There is a transtion. I don't see how motion control will do that at all. I have seen someone who was not used to a 360 controller (elderly man) who ended up having to work to get up to speed. He tried to do Halo, and it was a disaster, for example. He felt he had to, because other people he knew were doing FPS and other games, and he felt he needed to play with them. One can't expect people to be that dedicated to do so. Entertainment needs to map to where people are. You can't expect people to go out of their way to work to try to get up to speed on something that is designed to entertain.
This is interesting!
Less gimmicky, more like an add-on in classical gameplay, sounds good.
I still think that Move is more interesting in this array though.
We'll see what comes out of all this, but it definitely raised my interest about Kinect.
They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts
I won't mind as long as they implement it right.

of course they need to add buttons to their games lol, you cant just have a game based on flailing your arms around
Oh snap. Hopefully this means one hand on the joystick, one hand on the sword. RPG. Yeah. I went there.
Alternatively, it could be an probably is, gamepad games with Kinect segments . . . nah, that'd be stupid. Which is probably why it'll be done at some point.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
Microsoft better not make Hybrid games where the consumer needs both Kinect and a controller to play. Because I'm not buying Kinect for various reasons and if Microsoft does force Kinect on us by making many games hybrid then I will take all my buisness back to Nintendo and leave Microsoft's X-Box catching dust like my PS3!

I think most of the hybrid games won't require you to use KINECT....it will most likely be optional.

Better be, I'd be seriously pissed if I couldn't enjoy Halo4 because I didn't have a Kinect

I think (or hope at least) MS knows better than to make you need KINECT for games like Halo and Gears. I'd bet it will be like Forza 4 where its for simple little things like head tracking in races or bending down and moving your head to look at your car.
