For me its FFVIII = FX > FFVII > FIX> FFXIII > FFX-2 > FFXII.

In terms of MGS it will be MGS 2> MGS 1 > MGS3 > MSG4 in that order

Really? FF9? I find FF9 to be very substandard compared to 6, 7, 8, and even 10. It didn't feel like a true Final Fantasy game, it felt more like a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game.
