Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft ups Kinect Holiday sales expectations to 5mil!

interesting, i have to imagine that MS expects kinect to be supply limited at least until the other side of the holidays.  guess this means they expect more units availible this year.

I have been debating on picking up 2 when I go to get mine to have one to sell on ebay. Just not sure if they are going to be low on supply or if they can make plenty.

i feel pretty confident they will be in low supply.  i'm not sure how much money you can make or if it will be worth your while but making some money is pretty much a guarentee.  worse case senorio take it back to the store for a refund after the holiday.

i talked to a guy on the train when the ps3 released and he payed $1,500 for a ps3 on ebay.  never, NEVER underestimate the stupidity of people.

VGChartz appears to be very bearish on the sales of Kinect.

Microsoft, unsurprisingly, is not.

IT will be very interesting to watch Chartz, and other tracking agencies stats on sales of kinect I think.

Hmmm . . . this close to release to up the holiday sales expectations SO much means they must have some measurable evidence that demand is HIGHER than they originally anticipated.  The fact that they made it public so close to launch leads credence to that thought.

Folks . . . I think it's safe to say that this is going to be pretty big, whether you like it or not.

Who cares what it sells? I just want mine! I cannot wait to get it.

Maybe he was searching for stuff like this:

NOOOOOO!!!! Controller free anything is stupid.  I mean have you seen Minority Report?  Everyone saw that movie and hated it.  They thought the remote free screen controlling was all stupid.  Now, I bet you in 50 years, everyone is going to be using a Move with their computer, phones, and video games.

Kinect couldn't be the future, because it's tech can't get any better.  Sony and Nintendo are going to mop the floor with Microsoft.  I mean, seriously, only stupid people put 500 million dollars into advertisement.  Are you stupid?  I didn't think so.

I leave it up to you to decide if that is sarcasm.

And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence.

double post, my bad.  Always wondered how that happenend.

I know exactly how serious you were being but I won't tell.
