NIS is so fucked.  If Disgaea 4 doesn't move 120k plus, they should just pack it in...

I think your math is screwed up. The Wii launched at 25,000 yen, the PS3 was available for 60,000 yen (60gb) and 50,000 yen (20gb). The PS3 never had a 100,000 yen price point ( $1000). Plus the Wii didn't have the pack-in Wii Sports game as well (like the USA/Europe)

The Wii currently sells for about 20,000 yen, while the PS3 currently sells for 30,000 yen (160gb) and 35,000 yen (320gb).

The PS2 has sold over 21 million.

TRue but handhelds were not as dominant then I think.

Yep. DS is definitely the system of choice overall.

If we're going by lifetime of home consoles though as was stated, Metallicube is wrong.

And it hurts me to know that not one of the home consoles this gen will even get close to the PS2's sales of 21 Million plus.

Edit: Sorry. 23 Million plus... According to VGC the PS2 sits at 23,098,857 in Japan. Awesome!
