Forums - Sales Discussion - Rock Band 3? Flop? The death of a genre?

Rock Band 3 is fantastic, and that is from someone who has the first 2. It is so much different, especially with the Keyboard, and I have been able to keep all the songs from the first 2. I hope it finds decent sales over time, cause its the best music game ever made IMO.

I am a gamer. Not a fanboy, not a troll, a gamer. So when you dont like what I have to say, remember this fact.

Fuck you activision Rock Band is a great game but you had to go release 11 million versions with no innovation no one wants this awesome game. I hate you Koteck I hope you get super aids and cancer.

Vent over, but seriously the Rock Band games have always been ten times better than guitar hero but its doesn't get the sales it deserves.

Isn't that basically the same?

depends on how you define the industry.

If you define the industry as *money grubbing whores*, then yes, it is still great news.

However, the bad news is that if the *industry* feels threatened, they may put out even more garbage, and cancel all funding to *risky* games.

Not only that, the profits from these games were probably used to fund other games. Take away those profits and budgets for other games might slashed.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

The thing I'm looking forward to is the midi integration. I only wish they built an interface where you could hook up any guitar rather than a crappy squier. Hopefully someone will figure out a mod that is cheap an easy.

You ought to be able to plug in any guitar with a MIDI pick up and their own console specific midi adapter. If you already have the guitar, it ought to be the cheaper alternative.

yeah that too...however, it's EA, so I have literally no interest in their games anyway. But if this is a trend across all gaming it could be bad news for stuff i actually like.

They need to just release 1 game with the instruments. Then only dlc for any and all new songs

@markers ive been wondering how come they dont do that, it would be cheaper, The audience will always be interested and then they cant be blamed for oversaturation. Did we really need a Band Hero??? Sports games need to do this too
