The Discussion Thread!

The Official Thread Here!

1.  All Questions and Commentary are to be posted and discussed in this thread! The Official Thread is just for posting your lists!

2.  Guys... seriously though, let's keep this FUN and CIVIL. This feature is meant to bring the community here even closer by discussing and posting our favorite games. Let's not tear it apart with petty and flaming comments. Each person's top 50 is their own favorite games, and NO ONE can take that away from them.

3.  That said, I encourage everyone to ask questions and discuss their reasoning for placing certain games at certain spots. The more discussion the better!

so I guess here we can say what our game is each day and we're able to talk to other people about their game...cool!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Yeah, it should be fun! I did this a couple years ago on another (much smaller) website, and it was really fun! The discussion is the best part (You put Wind Waker at number 48? HOW COULD YOU?! etc etc )!

New Rule Added:

I'm not allowing games released after November 12th to be put in people's lists. Sorry, but it just messes everything up and adds confusion to replace older games.

Plus, time is a great indicator of how much you love a certain game. Letting some games have only a week or two is unfair to previous games (because we all love brand new games! Best game ever! Etc etc... but how much will you love it a year from now?)

Will you be doing a VGC community ranking (adding everyone's games)?

Maaaybe. ^_^

I mean, I don't want this to be a competition, but I think it would still be fun to see which games do the best between the different participants.

Community Rankings are unreliable as a measure of quality. Case in point, the general community as a whole has collectively decided that the original Final Fantasy was the best RPG on the NES even though it had numerous bugs and other issues that stopped it from being considered above average.

This is very true, and is why I don't want this to turn into some sort of competition. I'm very much against that.

Still, I think it would be interesting to post some stats about certain games after January 1st rolls by.

So the 12th we must post the 50th favorite game while the 31st december the favorite game ever.

You got it! It will go like this:

November 12th (Day One):

50. Ninjabread Man

Ooh boy! I sure do love this game! It goes wonderful with cheese-whiz! Yum yum yum!

December 31st (Day Fifty):

1. Okami

Okami is awesome. That is my thought out reason for why it is number one!
