Forums - Gaming Discussion - Would Castlevania and Enslaved done better if they were exclusive?

Also I think generally new IPs do better when they are an exclusive. It makes that new IP get some attentionThis is probably the reason they decided to make AGENT (whatever happend to this game?) an exclusive so it could establish itself as a new IP.

Don't think either would have sold better exclusive if they were still published by Namco or Konami. They just didn't handle the launches for these games very well at all.

Certainly would have been bigger hits if Sony published them or something.

Castlevania, maybe, though it would've done better if it weren't far too inspired by other games for its own good (my thoughts anyway). From the looks of things, as others have said, it's only Castlevania by namesake.

Enslaved, on the other hand, I think it could've done WAY better if it were exclusive and supported by Sony. But then again, there's the talk about Heavenly Sword not breaking even for Ninja Theory (though this is most likely due to poor management).

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

hmmm, i think both games wouldve performed better if they were PS3 exclusive, Demon's Souls and Heavy Rain support this imo. but the other problem is also the time of release, its dumb to have a reboot and a new IP release near Call of Duty, Medal of Honor and Halo Reach

I laughed.

I dont follow... is it funny that Medal of Honor sold more than 1mil in the first week?? is it funny that Castlevania is a reboot?? please explain.

You said it's dumb to have a reboot release near Medal of Honor, the last time I checked, it's a reboot itself.

Medal of Honor is a FPS, dunno if you knew but they're the most popular games out at the moment, and MOH used to be a very popular series. Castlevania cant really be compared to it for obvious reasons.

Had you originally stated a "non FPS reboot"...all this confusion would have been avoided. But no...you had to miss that detail :P

I think it was obvious i was talking about Castlevania considering the title of the thread, anyway this is irrelevant, my point was for those reasons, both Castlevania and Enslaved would have done better as PS3 exclusives, not necessarily 360 because some games are difficult to sell on the platform, eg. Alan Wake

You said, and i  quote... *its dumb to have a reboot and a new IP release near Call of Duty, Medal of Honor and Halo Reach*.

This implies that its dumb to release any reboot and any new IP at same time as MOH, COD and Reach.

This statement is a shotcoming on your end since Medal of Honor is a reboot as well. Had you clearly stated and said... *non fps reboot* in your original statement, none of this completely unnecessary chatter would have transpired.

Good day!

castlevania would have done better if it wasnt called castlevania. no one from the castlevania fanbase wants to play this game...and people who dont play castlevania are saying..."i dont want it, i dont play castlevania"

Im pretty sure I fall in the category of "I really like this game, but I would be enjoying it more if it WASNT called Castlevenia"  Definitely not what I expected, or hell even wanted, but I am still enjoying it regardless of my misgiviings.

And Enslaved is awesome.  But if they were Exclusive?  Nope, I highly doubt it.

Its still pretty obvious if you read the whole post i was reffering to Castlevania and Enslaved. seeing as its in the title of thread. i didnt think people would have trouble understanding that the games discussed in this thread would be Castlevania and Enslaved.

however i apologise now for that i can see it was far too complicated. i will be more pedantic with my words in future... not!!

Castlevania maybe, Enslaved yes.
