When I bought my Philips mp3 player, I checked if I could find an iPod with at least a small display for less than 50€, but within that price there were only pink iPod Shuffles, that BTW have no display.
Anyway you would have been right in a quite recent past: the first, PowerPC based, Mac Mini was more powerful both in CPU and GPU, and less expensive too, than any good quality mini PC. But as time went by, Apple didn't update its specs, first letting its entry level with less RAM and obsolete optical drive, then, when Macs switched to Intel CPUs, fitting on Minis also Intel on board GPUs, the crappiest in the world, while the first PPC Mini had the fastest on board GPU of its times. And at the same time the price grew, making the Mini not the cheapest and best mini PC in the world anymore.
