Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii motion vs Playstation Move

Fact is none of them do motion controls very well. Not the Wii, not the Move, and I bet my left testicle that Kinect will also be a dud in that department.

Wii motion controls have always felt heavy to me, 99% of the games are _not_ accurate, motion plus has seriously poor support thus far. There are perhaps a handful of worthwhile games on the Wii, the rest are pathetic ports, rubbish party games, or games where motion controls shouldn't even have been considered.

Move motion controls will suffer the same heavy feeling, a bit more delay, but that might be worth it if it gets 3rd party support, but I think it will probably end up like the Wii, with mostly shit games. PS3 at least has quite a few good games that do not use motion controls.

Kinect. What can I say about Kinect other than it is perhaps the worst idea for gaming ive seen in a long time. People already look retarded playing games with the Wiimote or the Move, now we are going to have people flailing around or doing AIR GUITAR or shooting games with their index finger. It's going to be bad.

how can the controller slow down gameplay?

as a wii user, you may not be aware of the power of the cell.....theres games like killzone 3 implementing it without any lag at all......and thats at the same time while doing HD and 3D.

i agree the wii has more games but playing a lot of shit isnt the same as playing a small amount of quality games.

the ps move launch games are way better than what the wii had.......give the psmove 6 months, it will have better games supporting it than wii has in its entire generation.

your wii will need 5 motion plus's attached to it to match the accuracy and tracking of the psmove.

the move pointer actually is very fast - I was surprised, that in The Shoot demo there is virtually no delay between my motion and the pointer moving, even if I waggle the Move around like crazy

btw using insults left right and center only makes you look insecure

Big bullshit. plain and simple.

Having both I can easily have my move pointer moving as fast as WB's Road Runner, it's a matter of settings.

Wii motion plus is a ripoff : You pay it 15 € that gives you a total wimote price of 55 € for just an added gyroscope, already integrated in PS Move wand. PS Move also use a magnetometer to help define its space localization.

Move doesn't move as fast as the wii's pointer. stop lying you sony worshipper. That is all you guys do is lie.

Also the move is a rip off of the wii mote and nunchuck

You know... you somehow want me to buy the Move just so I can compare it myself... I think this wasn't your goal ^^

BTW: I think Motion Gaming sucks on the Wii and I am pretty sure it also sucks on the PS3... Motion Gaming in general sucks.... but that is just my opinion...

I think Move is just going through what the Wii was going through years ago, it's new to people making games for it so I wouldn't be surprised if it's gonna suck for 3 more years. The thing is, I'll probably never buy Move, reason being I already have a Wii, and my focus is the flexibility of games I can get with more systems having unique games that I want, which the Wii and PS3 both can provide for me, but if you have a Wii, then you most likely won't need Move for anything, unless you want to be dissapointed for years to come. I don't even want to talk about Kinect since this is not a thread about it, if it works for PC, I might get it for PC, but not for gaming purposes, it's just not that kind of device imo.

This old debate again.

The video was lame and I didnt understand wtf the dribble was on about since it was all monotone voice.

There are two problems in this debate

Wii Motion Plus hasn't really been used much and Move has been used on mini games.

I bet they are about the same when it comes to motion controls if developers put effort and time into them.

I've been waiting for a good firmware update, an actual good one, from Sony for awhile, looking at the recent firmwares, I wouldn't bet on Move getting super duper support just by looking at that most important track record alone. The last sentence is complete bull shit btw, they are really about the same in actual practice even though Move has 1 more sensor to make up for depth tracking that it's camera lacks.

PS: The launch games are about the same, even with about the same review scores if not lower, wtf are you even talking about?

I couldn't finish watching that it was horrible. Though I must agree WM gives you the same quality control as Move if not better. With way more titles on the Wii and the cheaper price tag you'd be foolish to purchase Move, or just a fanboy.

But for people not having Wii, Move could be an option. Plus, PS3 also gives you many other things besides motion gaming.

Actually the move is dumbed down motion controls. The pointer speed between the two are very different. pretty the wii wins that

I did not touch on the technical issues. What I meant that in terms of purchasing decision, especially for current owners of PS3s, Move could be a better option than the purchase of a Wii. Also for persons not owning a current gen console, you would also need to factor in other issues besides the motion controls (like cost, games library, what the console will be used for, etc.).

Actually if you want motion gaming. The best choice is wii because the wii has a lot more better titles for it

Possibly so ... but if you want Motion gaming and HD. Or motion gaming, internet play, trophies, Blu Ray, mature adult games (like Heavy Rain) then Move will work out better.

The wii has matures games and graphics don't matter.  Wii has internet play btw

Which games would you cite as mature? My comparison standard is Heavy Rain given we are speaking of motion controls. I know Wii has internet but it is generally not very well integrated or present at all as in NBA Jam (PS3/360 vs Wii).

Ugh, see this is the main reason I didn't like the idea of Sony making its own Wiimote, now all the pointless hardware comparisons/debates are going to start up again, it's like the graphics argument all over again. It's much more peaceful when Nintendo does its own thing :/

I don't really care which is "better", I care which games are better, and for my money, the Wii has far more games that I would want to play than the Move. Hell it has more games I would want to play than all of the PS3 library really.

Flamebait thread;

Locked.
