Forums - General Discussion - Scientists may of gotten Mayan calendar wrong...

Eveything is just mistranslated. I'm not an expert but there is no such thing as end time or end of the world. What I think it means is a new aeon or a new age. Just like when you flip the calendar to a new year. From what I recall from looking up the Astrological calendar, we are in the age of Pisces.

That means we might have to wait longer until DNF releases...

That's it! I'm canceling my preorder.

Bad news, guys. According to my "Majestic Mountains" calendar from DaySpring Publishing (sadly, they're actual mountains, not huge silicone titties), the world ends December 31, 2010!

Is this connected to Gamestop having Gran Turismo 5 as January 1, 2011?

It must be. Now our only hope is that Sony is publishing the apocalypse as well.

Wait, do you mean publishing DURING the apocalypse, or the apocalypse is actually a TITLE they are publishing?  If Sony is publishing it, that means it is the end of the world for Sony fans, and I guess Nintendo and Microsoft fans are safe

I mean that if Sony is in charge of the apocalypse, we will all die natural deaths before it's unleashed upon the world. Just like with GT5.

No , you got it all wrong. Sony publishes a full apocalypse to cover up another GT5 delay.

Anyway ,

2012 is BS. After 2012 people will search for some kind of new 'prediction'.

'course they will. All we can learn from this 2012 thing is that people are gullible, which we already knew.

The world ends when the sun runs out of hydrogen fuel and begins to expand and swallows the earth.

I saw this news article once where they interviewed a Mayan descendant from Central America I believed. The guy is still pretty connected with his culture and he said in the interview that they never claimed that 2012 was the end of the world. He says that the whole gossip was created by media and which created another way to cash in on invented superstition!!!

I tried to look for the article but couldn't find it cuz the moment you type Mayan the moment you see 235762938502752 videos on the end of the world!

The world doesn't necessarily have to end with the sun exploding a millions of years from now.

A huge asteroid from out there could kiss the earth in 2020 for all we know.

A giant solar flare, rogue black holes, the reversal of the earth's magnetic fields and a zillion unforeseen events could turn out the lights whenever.

Damn, even an alien race could zap us with a superdooper ray gun us next week....this is unlikely but no one knows.

From the scenario in Cat's Cradle to Yellowstone Park, stories and speculations of the earth's destruction will always be with us.

Ok, your comment has me concerned about this.  Will the full apocalypse (as opposed to the regular apocalypse Badger spoke of) support 3D and Move?  If not, I am not sure it will sell tha well.  Isn't the apocalypse supposed to be one of the killer apps of 2012 by Sony?
