Look at that list!!!!!

Its got fail written all over it, and why wouldn't they first make a balance of more hardcore titles such as a rip off of Time Crisis. instead kinect is launching with Zumba Fitness. Now all these titles are aimed at the causal market. Now the section of the causal game market these games tailor to are Mothers or kids (mostly girls) as you are not going to see an 8-30 year old male playing Dance masters when they can play call of duty instead.

But another Disclaimer on the Kinect is that majority of the Causal market Kinect is aimed at already have an Wii and an array of family favourite Nintendo games to draw in all types of gamers.

Whats an other problem with these games they are either related to the Wii or they are familiar to the eye toy. There rarely a thing orginal there.

My recommendation is to save your money and wait yes Wait until there are better games, that gives you an back up if it bombs and no more games are being made for it or that any good games come out for it.

edit:

The NY Post reports Microsoft is set to spend $500 million dollars in marketing Kinect, the Xbox 360 controller-free camera, this holiday.

"Kinect is the largest, most integrated marketing initiative in Xbox history, bigger than its launch," said Robert Matthews, general manager of global marketing communications for Xbox. "We are going to be spending millions to launch this globally

I wouldn't rest 500,000,000 on those titles, i dont know MS really risky

disclaimer: while i do have an PSN symbol below i do have an xbox and was considering buying the Kinect. Also i dont play XBL because it isn't free and hence no gamer card. again no PS3 fanboy here.

kinect will definately turn into a sports machine. most of those games listed above have to do with fitness, working out, etc.

I agree.  There are maybe two titles that I would try and even those wouldn't hold my attention for very long.  Microsoft definitely needs to get with the time sand start targeting their cash cow which is the 8 - 30 year old Male market.

It's getting a Panzer Dragoon, that's all I need to know.

Anyways, I'll probably keep my Kinect in unopened condition because I have a hunch that it will be a nice rare collectible like the 32X someday.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I dunno... you couldn't even bring yourself to post a thread about Kinect in the Microsoft section. Sounds pretty PS3 fanboyish to me!

OT: It all looks like garbage to me.

Not gonna happen. 32X sold less than 700K worldwide, even the most pessimistic expectations for Kinect are much higher than that.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

you don't need to actively play on XBL to have a gamercard....

You don't need the paid XBL service to have a gamertag and get your achievements...so that's a fail right there.  As for the list of titles...there are 3 games I'm interested in, and what more can you expect on launch?  How many must have titles launched with the PS3 or the 360?

only play halo and fable on it

anyways i posted it to avoid Fanboy posts and ruin the thread. stay on topic

It's nice to have a long list of launch titles like that, but I'm afraid that most of them will bomb hard. People who buy kinect won't be buying ten titles each. They will have adventures and they may get one more. Another problem is that most of those are geared towards the casual crowd, which 360 has very little at this point. They will have to build a casual base very quickly to get decent sales on most of those.

Either way, the only ones I'm even remotely interested in are Adventures and Harry Potter. And from previews I saw a while ago, they both look like shit. So I guess no Kinect for me :(
