Forums - Gaming Discussion - FF VersusXIII going mutli? I think so.

who didn't see this one coming? It's good news though. With the immense success of FFXIII, Square would be retarded to keep Versus an exclusive.

@darth - what has Nomura said about the game that the 360 can't do?

I guess Nomura is still an entity yet to stand on his own two feet...so why some many gushing over him? To be honest, I never heard about him till recently.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Because he is responsible for directing the KH series.

But no I do not consider him the best person at SE

My favourite is Yoshinori Kitase....Director of FF6, FF7 and FF8.

im not convinced :/ it said on ign.com that people shouldn't immediate assume this means its going multi plat. it could just mean they want people who have worked in general on HD consoles.

My main meh about this is that shorley Square - Enix would be a little more subtle than this. they know by know that someone will prob be sitting on the website 24/7 waiting for any new text weather it be a spelling mistake being fixed or this :P

In an article a while back he said they are doing stuff like making in game battle system graphics look like CGI cut scene level graphics, real time cloud formation change or something....breakable environments. I mean it sounds like he really optimized it for PS3....from the way he said things in the interview it sounded like he was pushing Ps3 to its fullest.

Thats why I dunno if it can be ported to 360.

It's not experience with 360, or experience with 360 and PS3, it's experience with 360 or PS3. To me, it seems more like they're seeking someone with experience with the HD system. Besides, they already have a team of 360 capable people.

That said, I'm afraid they're probably going to release a 360 version as well. Why afraid, you might ask. Because of FFXIII, I would answer. If not for the disappointment that was FFXIII, I wouldn't really care that much.

Nomura didn't know! Hopefully this news will make him quit Square-Enix and/or life.

I'm sure you are kidding about the "and/or life part" but him quitting SE would be a godsend. Maybe they would put someone in charge of Final Fantasy that knew what the hell they were doing.

You're wrong.

If anyone needs getting rid of, it's Wada.

Nomura's games sell very well, his characters are memorable and Versus XIII is actually the first main FF game he's Directed, so I don't understand your "in charge" thing...

The other game with Final Fantasy in the title in which he's had big story involvement was Final Fantasy VII. Which is by many said to be the best in the series (And sales-wise, it's the highest selling).

You are right Kitase did VI, VII, VII. The latter two were terrible. FFVII may have the best sales in the franchise but its one of the worst games in the series. If Nomura had a big part in VII's story, I hope he's learned something since then. FFVII's story had more holes in it than a warehouse full of swiss cheese.

@Badgenome

SE does need new leadership. They are sitting on a wealth of top notch RPG IPs and 90% of what they release has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest somewhere in the title. It's miracle that a new Tactics Ogre is being released.

The tiny amount of extra sales on the XBOX 360 will not cover the costs of the porting and possible changes they have to make to the game...not to mention the amount of people that say "if Versus goes multi...im not buying it"...it just doesn't add up in the end...there isn't much of a benefit to put it on the XBOX 360...maybe Micro$oft's dump trucks full of money are covering the porting costs...wouldn't surprise me...

The biggest downside is ovcourse the fact that the game will not end up being optimised for the PS3...content will have to be cut so the games structure fits nicely on a shit load of discs...and the game will end up arriving in 2015...

Oh happy days >_>

It also could mean they want someone who has worked on HD systems before then again who knows with this company MS fanboys will never properly support JRPG's so stop trying so damn hard Square Enix and just dedicate the game to one system. No more compressed audio, no more multi discs, no more extra development time and cost.

I assume you're saying VII and VIII are terrible. To which I say you're wrong again, as it's purely a subjective matter. Many, many people think that VII is the best in the series and the characters of VII are also the best of all gaming, nevermind just Final Fantasy.

VIII also has its fans, and I'm sure there are a fait few here who would like to stand in it's corner.

And that story has spanned into 2 Movies and 4 Games (Not including the Orignal FFVII)
