Didnt ioi say that NPD numbers cant be trusted anymore, and that VGC is just as official if they are? Will hardly change anything, since ioi also dismissed GFK, i remember him flat out saying that the 360 outselling the Wii was a work of delusion.

Regardless, looking forward to those numbers, want to see how the Wii and DS will do with the recent surge in the PS3 and 360.

I actually don't remember any of that, except for the "as official as they are" thing (which is true; SIRAS is the only really super-official numbers source and they aren't publically available anywhere)

He gives a long detailed response to gamers who tought that the 360 beat the Wii and PS3 combined and disputed GFK. I think its good that hes doing it because it really shows just how much confidence in VGC and how much we should have too.

I just wish he posted more though and with such detail other discussions , i mean it was a thread that disputed Nintendo's dominance which will always be a massive topic here especially given the TheSource completely avoids playing non-Nintendo games.

As for NPD not to be trusted, that is sorta stupid. Even in the thread I posted, ioi says that Chart Track does a fantastic job and didn't really make a mistake. It is just that VGChartz shouldn't mimic NPD/GFK/Media Create blindly, as even they can be wrong or people can interpret the data wrong (which is more common).

Gfk is a generally reliable source. They might be slightly off occasionally but for the most part their numbers are accurate and Brett seems to trust them, as you can see here.
