Forums - Gaming Discussion - Halo3 ingame graphics?

What do you all think the Halo3 in-game graphics will compare to?

I'll give my thoughts later.

slightly better than resistance, better lighting being the most notable edge.

I'll state my post now, since someone else has.

I think the graphics will be sharp, and very cartoony. I think the particle effects will be superb, however I dont think that there will be a 'visual' diffrence from shooting things in diffrent body parts. (unless it's a basic script meaning it will always look the same if you shoot someone in the arm)

I expect the levels design/art/quality to be below Resistance/Gears of War.

I think Gears of War will be overall a better looking game than Halo3.

Halo3 will milk the masses.

The little that has been seen becasuse leaked looked good but not awfully good .It was certainly below Gears of War and that would put it also under Unreal 3 that will debut around the same time .It will have a lot of powerful competition in the face of Unreal 3 ,Haze ,Killzone 2 ,Prey 2 ,Quake Wars ....

is Halo games rated T or M? If they are rated T, then they will likly stay away from making it too real, such as very fine realism in where you are shot. That can cause the game to be upped to M and therefor POSSIBLY lower sales, although not sinificantly.

A delayed game is good someday, a bad game is bad forever.

Halo will rate M. Sogood and lots of blood to expect.

I'm really not expecting much.  Some cool shimmering and particle effects, like wet metal surfaces or bubble shields.  Some cool vehicular damage.  But model animation and overall style...seems kinda meh, or at least that's what I'm expecting.

Watching that "behind the scenes" video where they're playing multiplayer didn't excite me at all...I know they've got plenty of time to beef up the graphics, but even the core gameplay doesn't sound that new or exciting.  The standard gun, nade and melee, they're sticking to that, and not taking any risks.  I was hoping for a new game that will blow people away, but this just feels like an improvement over the last game.  An improvement over the last game won't blow me away...Gears of War was completely different and new.  This won't be...in my opinion.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I always thought Halo bore compared to Tribes/Tribes 2. That game much more immersive. Geras of War: Jake no like the controls, graphics beauty though.

Just watched the video myself and I'm not particularly impressed either. The graphics and gameplay do look fantastic,  but not much of a jump over Halo 2, which is surprising considering how absurdly great Halo 2 looked compared to Halo when they first showed it off and the fact its a on a new(er) console.

Of course, the finished product may end up looking better, but once you get into beta testing, wouldn't that signify that most of the major code is already pinned down?

from the vid up on gametrailers, its looks like crap.

sure as hell is no Gears of War.
