Forums - Gaming Discussion - Has Square killed the Final Fantasy franchise??

FF changes from game to game anyway, which people respond to with either happiness or annoyance. FF13 isn't any different, it just took what they did in FF12 to another level.

I'm sure if in 1999 the internet was as vast as it is now, we would have heard the same things after FF8 came out.

Exactly. That's why the series can't be "killed".

Yes, the day they forced Sakaguchi out they killed FF.

Everyone has their opinion on which ones were good or bad, it's normal for the series. I personally love 9 but I know many that thought it was crap. To me 12 was a snore fest but again some had a different opinion.

Each entry divides fans but they have all sold millions and until that stops it won't ever die.

I mean ff13 wasnt that bad, its just that I didnt grow attached to any of the characters or the story and the combat was below what I had expected, but from the looks of versus it shows a Kingdom Hearts style combat, which will be better in my opinion, hopefully it can redeem this franchise!!

it pains me that ff12 and ff14 are considered as ff sequals, they shouldnt have  since they are mmo's !!

I got bad news for you-- they killed the franchise probably about 10 years ago.  It has been a joke for a while now.

its looking that way but have faith, but 10 was the last great FF RPG

How do you kill that which has no life?

the series died for me when FF2 wasn't like FF1.

OT
It won't ever die for me, because even if they quit making them or made bad ones. It still had all the ones I loved. Which was more than any other franchise with Zelda or Mario in 2nd.
