Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Price of Games be a reason to pick up Move instead of Kinect?

For the sake of not posting a list, I'll just say about 6 Kinect titles so far.

The Kinect is in bigger demand (even at the higher cost of the device) and software sales will be better than Move required games. They can get away with selling games at a higher price. For the record, several Kinect games will be $40 as well.

Are you really implying that there is '6' Kinect games worth owning off the bat?  I'm actually curious.

It won't matter.  If people want a game they'll pay the price for them.  If people don't want a particular game, it wouldn't matter if that game was selling for $5.  It'll come down to whether or not people prefer using color changing wands or a voice controlled camera......or neither.

Just launch titles? I'd say 3. I look at reviews before I consider a purchase.

For example, I'm sure reviews kept a lot of people away from Kung Fu Riders. That really seemed like the most interesting Move required game.

Move games start at $40. Kinect games start at $50. Do you guys see the price of games affecting the sales of either of these?

Nope.

If the Kinect games are more appealing people will gladly drop the extra $10.

Move required games so far have been lame. The only one that seems worth playing is free with the bundle.

Wow, you surpass yourself everyday. Though, its true that people will not mind dropping 50$ for an interesting game, it goes for both hardware.

On topic, the only consumer I see considering game price are a very low percentage of multi-console owner. If you are a multi-console gamer and is interested in both Kinect and Move but cannot afford the 2, I think some (a very low percentage) will consider it. As a whole, I dont see the price of game influence the purchase of either or both.

I dont see the games price effecting the sales of the product at all. I mean if you want kinect or move the chances of you buying them are pretty high (high game prices or not).

Why don't you actually name a game

I'm amazed that you find even '3' titles from the Kinect launch list worth owning.  Especially with Move not having any titles worth purchasing.  To my eyes, they both have equally mediocre launch titles.

No...I see the games affecting the sales of the game.  $40 and $50 aren't that much of a difference and neither cross some mark that makes it seem all that much higher.

When something is $199 and and another is $209, that would seem like a huge difference.  One is under $200 while the other is above $200.  That crosses some imaginary mark.  There's no large imaginary mark between $39 and $49.

It won't matter. Kinect and Move are very different though. Games are different too. If you want Wii-mote in HD, then Move is your choice. If you want to do play dancing games without holding anything, then only Kinect can give you that experience.
