Forums - General Discussion - So terrorism in Europe?

I've always lived with Terrorism in my country, and it hasn't stopped me from sleeping.
So no, I'm not nervous at all. But if you ever do, they win.

It's only a matter of time before someone finds and activates a Halo ring.

Lol. Think if we ever found one, religious extremists would be more concerned with eliminate and alien 'abominations' than killing the rest off us.

This thought of this is quite alarming. If such a thing was to occur, especially in a city like Paris or London, it would be a turning point in the War on Terror. Most likely would polarise the West between those who want to put more effort in fighting in Afghanistan and possible other countries where they have a stronghold, and other who renew there calls to withdraw.

One day Europe could be throwing its muslims out.

Thats what I call irrational!

But by the way, terrorist attacks with guns seem like a rather strange idea to me. From a terrorist's point of view, I would probably consider bombs to be a much better alternative. They're cheap as well, they can kill more people if placed in the "right" spot, and the terrorist will survive the attack. It seems that most terrorists don't really like the idea of suicide missions.

It worked in Mumbai.

This is wiki article about it as of yet i cannot figure out how to create a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/26_November_2008_Mumbai_attacks
It does it automatically, good!

Here in Holland , the threat isn't very big. Only now we have an idiotic manic (Geert Wilders , you may know him) who's drawing a lot of attention from terrorists. He is anti islam , want's to ban those towels on their heads (Don't now translation) , doesn't wan't any more muslim in the country and he has a lot of support. There is a problem here with people from countries like Marroc , Turkey etc. They have a really high crime rate and cause a lot of trouble , they are low educated and most are out of a job. They also costs loads of money becuase they get money from the goverment to be able to live and eat. Especcialy the younger ones. And Geert Wilders uses that to attract votes. People think he will take care of those things , but I don't think you can blame the islam for those kind of problems. And most voters think he will take care of it , but he is just extreme anti islam. Also , he has a high position in our politic system now since he got so many votes. But a lot of other so called party's (part of our politic system) don't want to work with him.

Also , when something happens here in Europe , like the dude who drawed a funny cartoon of Mohammed , all of the middel east starts burning flags , and declare war to the people of the country. It doesn't make sence. They're crazy. Because one man draws something , they wan't to kill the whole country where he's living in.

So far I don't see much of a terror treat here in Holland , but elsewhere , like in France , treat is increasing. They've banned Burka's etc.so they are under a big threat.

Meh. This isn't going to change anything in Europe. The correct ppl will deal with it, the rest will go on with our lives as usual. People were waiting for the tube/bus after the Madrid/London attacks. It will be dealt with.

The EU has more reason to warn ppl going to the US.

The muslim population is scared the most whatever (if something) happens it will hurt them the most..

Am I scared?  Not at all I am used to the treat of the muslim population here.

i like how some people are offended by this. America along with UK, Germany, etc. have discovered a plot for terrorsts to attack European Cities. Its only fair that people get warned. While the chances of getting killed are very small, if it does end up happening, there will be people getting killed. As for those saying Europe should warn people going to America. America does not have a much higher murder rate then Europe. It has a lower murder rate then some of Eastern Europe who's people are allowed to freely travel anywhere in Europe, and compared to the western European countries it is slightly higher. Fun fact Saudi Arabia is safer then all European and North American countries. They should be warning their citizens  about traveling to the violent western civilizations.

Just read an article that the US is putting out a travel advisory because the US And UK uncovered an Al Queda plot to assemble teams of armed gunmen to go into europeon cities that have a lot of people and just shoot down as many people as possible.

Anyone in Europe nervous about this at all?

I'd be more nervous of the risk of living in the US  and being shot by a fellow US citizen to be honest.  The chance of being shot in the US by someone FROM the US is far higher than the same risk of being shot by a terrorist in the UK or Europe.  FAR higher.  Maybe Europe should give the same advice to its citizens wanting to go on Holiday in the US.   Pathetic.

yes,all we do in the U.S. is shoot each other, give me a break. It's just a cautious warning. It's not like there keeping U.S. citizens from going to the UK. There just saying be vigilante. That's all,no need to get worked up over it.
