Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo getting arrogant with 3ds the way Sony did with ps3?

Arrogance... Look at E3 2005 and 2006. THAT is arogance on Sony's part. Nintendo so far have not said " our console will sell even if there are no games!"

What arrogance?

funny thing it actually did, and with sever supply constraints

but that was pretty arrogant

Sony wants you to spend $2000 for a 3D television, $100 on 3D glasses, and $400 for a PS3 Move. That's $2500 for Sony's 3D experience. What's that about arrogance?

Nintendo, on the other hand, is making a gorgeous, glasses-free 3d experience for a tenth of that price.

and a tenth of the size to -_-

I seriously question the intelligence of people who honestly compare the experience and requirements of home entertainment to that of a fucking handheld......

I question the intelligence of people who don't know the difference between "to" and "too".

The only value I can see a 3d home entertainment system having over a 3d handheld is the fact that multiple people can see it together. But that's not worth several thousand dollars!

If you want a slice of the 3d experience, but you don't have 2500 bucks and think 3d glasses are stupid, the 3DS is a very good value (especially with that 3d camera they got on there!)

omg grammer Nazi lol

and again insinuating that the 3DS can provide a 3D experience even a tenth as equal to that which you would get from home entertainment..........yeah

Considering that the newest iPhones are 700 or so dollars off the shelves without any plans attached, I'd gladly pay my 250 for the 3DS.

Honestly I thought the PSP Go was a bit high in price at $250 when my brother bought one... I don't plan on getting a 3DS anyway but if I do it won't be at $300 or $250 as the absolute most I will pay for a Handheld is $220 which is pushing it for me.

would'nt you be,considering the sales of the DS. Nintendo pretty much owns the handheld market. They have for years.

I still doesn't see anything about this statement that would appear as being arrogant.

it's not like it's a Sony statement...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

If you want to question my intelligence, make sure you use correct grammar in doing so. Use capitalized letters at the beginning of sentences. Use periods at the end of sentences.  Don't write like a fourth grader if you want me to take you seriously.

Again, the only value a 3d home entertainment system may have is in being able to show 3d images to a group of people. This is not worth 2500 bucks. With Nintendo's price, you could buy multiple 3DS systems for a family of four and still have $1500 left over for games and movies.

So far, the TV industry's adventure into stereoscopic 3d has been a miserable failure. True arrogance is these companies actually thinking people are going to upgrade their TVs every two years just because a new "gimmick" has been added.

Nintendo is being completely disruptive by offering this same 3d experience at a much lower price. If the 3d "revolution" is going to happen, it's going to be because of Nintendo.

I dont think their getting cocky, I just think they stuffed WAY too many features into the handheld that sent the price over the top. Does anyone even care for the gyro and motion controls the 3DS has?

I agree that they stuffed a ton a features, but it's not necessarly a bad thing, but it did have the consequence of raising the price of a Nintendo handheld to a higher-then-used to price. Also, I care about the motion for Monkey Ball 3DS alone, so.....

OT: The cockiness shouldn't be compared to Sony, but from Nintendo of the past. They must obviously feel on top after the E3 reaction. I know I would. So maybe they're still trying to be humble, but it's a bit harder since their position is much better then E3 2006, AKA the last ultra-amazing Nintendo E3.

Nintendo needs to lose money every time that they sell a console.

That is the honorable thing to do.

alot of people bought what a essentially was a Gamecube with a motion controller that wasnt even that acurate and people are complaining about a handheld that has a good software lineup and might be as powerful as said system???  The hardcore fans are going buy it no matter what the price. I dont know why people are fronting like their not. No one was complaining when Sony lauched PSP for that price. WHy?? cause it was doing what no one else was, giving console quality gaming and multimedia on the go. Now Ninty is doing that but with 3D for the same price. whats the issue here, by all rights i think it should cost 300
