NBA 2K11 is a love letter to basketball fans. If you don't follow hoops, a lot of the subtleties will be lost on you. And if you are looking for a loose, fun, crazy dunkfest experience like NBA Jam, you're going to get hosed. But if you are serious about basketball, this will fill a long-standing void in your hoops-loving heart. This is the NBA. No one else has come close to representing it in such great and accurate detail as this.

Honestly, the stuff with Michael Jordan is reason enough to pick up NBA 2K11. The fact that 2K Sports did so much more with this game and improved it so greatly over last year's title is stunning. This isn't just the best basketball game ever; it's the best sports game of this generation.

I usually don't like basketball games but the demo had me nodding in approval.

I don't doubt this game's awesomeness(I have NBA 2K10 and I LOVE IT), but apparently it's as good as Halo:Reach and Uncharted 2?

umm i knew 2k10 was great with the My player thing

but seeing how they have topped that with more stuff, its a must buy

This game looks like it is indeed a love-letter to basketball fans and possibly the most quality sports game ever...but it won't have the impact that wii sports had. Unfair comparison yes, but it is what it is.

It's silly to compare scores across genre's.

Don't compare the game to Reach or Uncharted, compare it to other sports games.

Compare Reach/Uncharted to other FPS/TPS

Can someone also fill me in about " My Player " in 2K ? Is that a mode where you create your own player and get him drafted ? Develop him, win awards, championships, etc ?

I would say that MLB10: The Show is the greatest sports game of the generation...until next years edition comes out. But of course I am not a basketball fan and for those that are, I'm glad that you are getting an amazing game.

I wonder if the reviewer (and myself I guess) will change their mind when GT5 comes out. =P
