Underrated: Metroid: Other M/ Mario Kart Wii 

Underrated - FF13, NIER, Ratchet And Clank : A Crack In Time, MGS4 (It is one of the lowest rated MGS games on metacritic....thats not good enough....its deserves 100)

Overrated - GTA4, Fallout 3

This gen... underrated. Resonance of Fate... (Unless it sucks the last 20 hours,but still... i'd still say its underrated... there's plenty of more underrated games too.

Uh overrated. Killzone 2. And for the most part, imo most non PC FPS.

Under-rated: Darksiders, Mass Effect 1, Uncharted 1

Over-rated: Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 2

I'm sure there's a ton more that I've thought of in the past but in the 0.5 seconds I spent thinking about it right now that's what came to me.

Oh! And also anything with the words Modern, Duty, Call, Warfare, and of in the title is incredibly over-rated.

Nobody'd said Lost Odyssey?  Well it's VERY under-rated.  I think that when it came out, people were expecting FF13 to come along and raise the bar so high that they didn't give this game the respect it deserved.  It's a very enjoyable, very pretty HD version of what I wish the Final Fantasy series would have done.  It lacked innovation but is that such a bad thing when it does everything it's supposed to do so well?  Still my favorite traditional JRPG this gen.

Well I know this thread is about games that critics got wrong but I think the critics got Resident Evil 5 right (86 metacritic) and that a lot of the bashing that some gamers gave it is undeserved.

I personally never played it, but I consider "Just dance" the perfect example of a game the critics got completely wrong.

Despite usually rated very low by critics (IGN for example just rated it 2/10), the game has already sold more than 4 million copies. The people obviously love it.

Over-rated: ugghh Modern Warfare 2 of course. That game took the great Modern Warfare name and took a shit on it, spat on it, puked on it and then threw it in the sewers.

Under-rated: Assassin's Creed. I know it was repetitive as hell but still I think it deserved better than mid-70's even though I still consider mid-70's a good score. I would have given it more like low-mid 80's.
