Hey guys, in the craziest act of nature I've ever witnessed, my sister's boyfriend is selling me his PS3 for $50! Yes it works just fine. The only thing is he's not giving me any controllers because he is buying a new model, but I don't really care. :P

I never imagined myself actually buying and owning a PS3, so I never prepared myself for this day! ... And now I need serious help!

First off, besides games, is there anything I need to get for my PS3? Will my Dualshock Ps2 controllers work? Do I need any other fancy stuff for my PS3?

Now, for games, I am an avid Nintendo player, been that way my whole life. My 360 more than satisfies any need for FPS games so I don't need any recommendations for that. On my PS2 I love GoW and SotC, so I'm assuming GoW3 is worth getting, and how is the new ICO game turning out? I am interested in Uncharted, but I don't know much about it. The only last note I can think of is that I'm not interested in Racing games like GT5.

So, being a Nintendo and microsoft gamer, what games would you PS3 owners recommend me? Feel free to list any games that are currently out as well as games that we know are coming out. Also don't forget any Downloadable games that are worth checking out! Most of my favorite games on my 360 happen to be XBLA games.

You'll need a PS3 controller, your PS2 controllers won't work without a converter.

The Uncharted games are awesome, very cinematic, and you should really get the first one before the second.

The Ratchet & Clank games are awesome too, I'd recommend going through them chronologically (Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty and finally Crack in Time), even though Crack in Time is the best.

You also have to get Flower from PSN, it's an amazing game! Other PSN games like Joe Danger, Trine, Critter Crunch and the PixelJunk games (PJ Monsters is a blast in coop!, but PJ Racers should be a bit... special) are highly recommended too.

If you like storytelling in your games, you have to get Heavy Rain, it's an amazing ride!

DEMON SOULS

Ucharted is well worth checking out as well as god of war 3. you said no fps but resistance 2 is a must check out and you can get it for like $10. anyway DC online is what i am waiting on so if anything i will see on  psn. my psn is xxrkoxx so if you want to add me. The rest of the games go to gamestop or somewhere and see what you like. And the ps2 controller as far as i know dont work with ps2 games

Errm you can actully use your PS2 Dualshock with a converter, but i would recommend getting a new one anyway, theres an update from Sony that disables all 3rd party devices via the USB ports, so i'm not sure if the converter will work anymore - not sure. and when i was trying to use my PS2 controller the R2 button would register my actions in a game, so i would advise just getting a new one.

and i recommend Heavy Rain, and if your into hardcore games Demon's Souls, but the sugesstions about Uncharted and God of War are equally good choice. although imo GOW3 is just amazing, and probabily even better when you play GOW1&2 in HD on the PS3. if your into shooters then theres loads, but the one i'm looking foward to is Vanquish which is in lead development for the PS3 coming out next month, looks cool.

Since I am also an avid Nintendo fan I would suggest the following exclusive games on PS3.

3D Dot Game Heroes - for that classic zelda adventure feel. Most of the weapons besides the sword suck, but the game is  a lot of fun. It's cheap too.

LittleBigPlanet - it'll let you down if you are expecting mario as it doesn't come close, but you can probably find it dirt cheap and it is a fun platformer. It also has an excellent level editor if you are into that kind of thing.

Demon's Souls is a must have

Demon's Souls, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 1&2, Killzone 2 is all you need.
