I consider the 249$ price about right, but 299 is really too much.

I think Nintendo knows this and will make sure it's not $299 at launch. I think they know that would be a mistake. I'm going to say $229-$249.

Bah!

Not a problem...there is no credible competition..unlike the consoles at the start of this gen.

I will probably get one at launch as I am very excited about it, but if they were to price it $250 I hope it comes with Zelda.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I won't buy it day one unless its $200.

It's almost certainly going to be 249 Dollars/Euros.

if it's 300 dollars then I'm waiting for a price drop

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

The only positive outcome I can see of a less than mass adoption friendly price is reduced demand due to the higher price bracketing will make it easier for Nintendo to keep pace with production.

That's actually a good point.  Nintendo may have learned their lesson with the Wii.

As for me, I'll wait until an official announcement of the US price.  Even then I'm probably going to remain undecided until close to launch.  I've never been a big handheld guy, and unlike a lot of people, I don't really care for the 3D fad that is going on right now.  Although, glasses free 3D gaming is very tempting...

Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
Switch - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (2019)
Switch - Bastion (2011/2018)
Switch - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (2014/2017)
3DS - Star Fox 64 3D (2011)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Wii U - Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (2010/2017)
Mobile - The Simpson's Tapped Out and Yugioh Duel Links

I think $250 is too much for a handheld.

If I will buy the system, i'd rather wait for my birthday a year later or wait for the price to drop.

Also, the games better cost as much as DS games.

$299 is definitely too much for me.

To put this price in perspective, here's a nice cost comparison between past handhelds (stolen from Sankaku):

GB – ¥12,800
GBC – ¥8,900
GBA – ¥9,800
GBASP – ¥12,500
DS – ¥15,000
DSL – ¥16,800
DSi – ¥18,900
DSiLL – ¥20,000
3DS – ¥25,000
