It needs to be less than $1600. I want performance so i am most likely going to go for an i7 processor, i just want it to be fast for a long time, have awesome speakers and decent battery life.... needs to look tight lol

He wants long battery life, and that laptop gets only an hour and a half.

Nice laptop though.

You need to choose between gaming performance and battery life. There are essentially zero laptops that have both, no matter how much you pay. Which do you value more? Could you buy a gaming desktop and ultraportable laptop for the same total money?

You can definitely game on a MacBook Pro 17" with a GT 330M video card and an i7 CPU. You also get 8-9 hours of battery life out of it.

I would not recommend this laptop with respect to this thread, due to cost, but I just wanted to respond, being you said it could not be done at any cost :).

That's better than I thought existed, however the GT 330M is hardly fast. Performing short of a desktop GT 220 will mean low to medium settings at the native resolution on most games.

So it depends on the games he wants to play and the settings he'd like it to be, against battery life.

If he wants battery life, he needs to stay away from that quad core i7. It's a great desktop chip but suffers in a laptop.
