It's all cyclical. Whoever is publicly perceived as down on their luck at a given time will then be granted the label of doom.

If we go by this generation, Wii was doomed from its announcement in September 05 to E3 06, PS3 doomed from E3 06 to E3 08, 360 doomed from E3 08 to September 08, PS3 doomed again from September 08 to April 09, Wii doomed from April 09 through November 09, 360 doomed from November 09 to E3 2010

 

Not sure who's "doomed" now. Probably Wii again.

This is a sales site and the main purpose is to talk about sales .. and if a console is faltering well ... can't expect bunnys and rainbows all the time can you.

Yeah, but people can be...let's just say "over-dramatic" sometimes.  They could step back and realize the world is actually not at an end, but they choose not to.  Then again, if we don't have a little fun with it, this site would be pretty boring.

The only console I've personally ever said was doomed was the PS3 at the beginning of the generation.  Can yo blame me?  It was having a legendary battle, week-to-week, with the Game Boy Advance XD

But now I would say all of them are successful.
