Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Big Nintendo fan, but can't see 3D

Since i heard from the 3DS I'm really pumped for the system. It looks like it's going to be one hell of handheld. This is probably the first time that I am psyched for a handheld in my life. However I have a lazy left eye, and until I went to see Avatar in 3d, I didn't know I couldn't see 3D. Now since a month i wear glasses for the first time in my life. I can see clear through both my eyes now. So here is hoping that I will see the games on the 3ds like they should be seen.

Are there any other people that can't see 3d? If so, do you look forward to the 3DS?

I can see 3D, but my favorite part of the 3DS is the turn off 3D feature! :P

I hope the gameplay still stands when you turn off 3d

I don't care much about 3D, but I'm looking forward to the 3DS.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

I just started wearing glasses this March and I saw the 3D elements just fine at E3.

I have astigmatism, and it is stronger in my left eye than the right one.

Happily I still can see 3D but it doesn't have the same effect as the other people with good vision.

And yes, i am still looking for the 3DS, because of the games.

p.s. Sorry my english

Since you can turn off the 3D, I imagine the gameplay will hold up.

I wear glasses and can see things in 3D, but it is so difficult to wear the glasses that I won't be getting a 3D TV soon. But I will get a glasses-free 3DS.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Without glasses I can't see it either, but correcting the eyes with glasses I can.

The hassle about going to the cinema to watch 3D is that I look like a jerk with 2 pair of glasses on my face, but that's the way I have to be in order to see the 3D effect.

Hopefully I can see 3DS's 3D with no problem at all since I only have problems seing stuff that is far away from me. At a close distance I'm rather normal.

I personally don't have any eyesight issues, but I just wanted to point out that you're still getting a hell of a handheld even if you turn the 3D off.  Actually, if a developer is so inclined, they can make the graphics look better in this mode since it doesn't have to render the game twice.  For instance, I read somewhere that Resident Evil will have strong anti-aliasing with the 3D turned off, while it only has a little with the effect turned on.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Kitchensink, I believe the AA is actually off with 3D enabled and is 2xAA when 3D is off.
