yep then they will cry about it. ATM the game is loosing 0.5-1 mark for no voice acting by some people.

 

I bet if it had voice acting it would loose 2 haha.

I also maintain this wouldn't be so bad if the writing, pacing, and voice acting wasn't so bad.

And too much of the script breaks the "show, don't tell" rule. If Sakamoto wanted to show Samus's maternal side, "The baby, blah, blah blah. Blah blah blah, the baby" was not it. Subtlety and subtext can be very powerful storytelling tools.

I think that's a problem with quite a few games, and this one in particular. The developers don't take the time to step back, examine their work, and truly scrutinize it to see if they're doing things right. Only those of us with the finished product take the time to really scrutinize and analyze everything going on. It's a pity that the developers don't take more care, because the game really could have been a lot better.

Even discounting all this talk about Samus as a character and the narrative of the game, there is still the glaringly obvious plothole Smeags brought up the other day that made me do the biggest *face palm* of my life.

That being said, I'm one of the few longtime Metroid fans who had fun playing this game. I'm just weird like that.

That part still drives me bonkers! I still can't believe Samus would be such a jerk to poor Melissa.

I think we all could see samus' sweet girly side when she didn't kill the baby metroid. Also in metroid fusion she takes all those alien animals on her ship with her. If that dosn't hint at that personality what else will? Those games hinted at her perosonality through her actions which other m should have done too.

I don't think so. I thought she was still pretty bad ass, but the whole "ok adam i'll do what you want thing
 was kind of dumb.

 

I really liked Metroid Other M though.

I frequently complain, however these sites seem to "over" enjoy complaining. Metroid: Other M certainly is not perfect, however it does live up to its expectations. If I am not mistaken I think reviewers cannot adjust to sudden change, thus lowering their score of the game.

Lets just say that in the future I will be very weary of any involvement sakamoto might have with any metroid game. As far as I'm concerned samus in other m is not samus at all, just some confused teenage blonde in heat "ohhh adam i love youuuu i want your baby!" who can't shut up about it.. YUK!.

My samus is a no words all action bounty hunter ,space pirate killer, metroid extinguisher, eradicator of all  evil who happens to be a female with 2 boobs of steel. Clearly sakamoto's samus is not my samus.
