Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Gamasutra: Wii to pull TV ads

they should advertise games, not the system. I have only seen ads for mario galaxy, nothing for umbrella chronicles or anything else. And 3rd party wonder why they have lower sales on wii.

Thats true the only 3rd party commercials I have seen for Wii games are sonic, sonic & Mario, godzilla, and thrillville.

Oh and even the most simple minded should see that this means that Wiis are selling like ganbusters. Even the crazy popular iPod never had ads pulled because it was already selling well enough.

Exactly, to my knowledge I have seen about 10 games have been pushed: Wii Sports, Paper Mario, Metroid Prime, Galaxy, EA Sports(multiple games), Tiger Woods 07 (not 08), Bleach, Dragonball Z 2 and 3, Mario vs Sonic and most recently Smackdown vs Raw. Can anyone name any others?

Edit: Just saw a commercial for Godzilla and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

It's not Nintendo's responsibility to advertise 3rd party games.

they culd never run an ad again for the Wii and it would still sell liek hotcakes. The damage is done, folks. Nintendo will be shitting on golden toilets for the next 15 years.

So a 17.2 - 17.5 millions Wii's sold by the end of the year would be a spot-on prediction :)

.

It will not kill sales at all, the Demand is ALREADY there, commercials are too create demand, not to keep it. (lol, pulled that one from my Marketing class I took sophmore year)

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

yeah i agree with you man, it wont kill sells really.

But--seeing as how much $mulah$ ninty has--i really wish
they would go out of their way to advertise 3rd party games.
I know it's not their responsibility or anything and i know
software-wise they're competitors, but Ninty needs to step
it up and show them that they want 3rd-P to succeed.

Am i miscalculating?

@Soriku

Do Sony or Microsoft advertise third-party games?
Or do they pay the third-party people money to only advertise a certain version of a multi-platform game?

Think about it.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
