PS3 currently has a 125k lead, was beaten this week by 19k.

I don't think anyone expects it to stay ahead if it manages to, what with GT5, but can it overtake for a short period?

There's always a chance. I don't think it will happen anytime soon, nor will the lead be permanent, but it is possible. I think this generation we are going to see the 360/PS3 sales are going to end up in a virtual tie leaning towards only one of the others favor by a small margin.

It will gain on it in the next weeks, but GT5's launch will put some distance between them. After that MS has till the next ps3 price cut to retake others. 

Their are basicly tied right now and both systems have incredible lineups so I think demand for both with stay where it is. However I think we only have one real year before we start hearing rumors of next gen systems. Both will still have a several years on the market, but after 2011 we will see this gen start slowing down. Niether has peaked yet, but next year they both will.

I made a similar thread to this before about 3 weeks back, also asking people when they beleive the 360 will surpass PS3 EMEAA sales. It's amazing how peoples responces changed.

35% said it will not pass PS3 total EMEAA sales, 23% said around the time Halo is launched, 14% said before the Kinect launch (so October), and 3 9% votes fo comming withing 100k, but not passing, tieing, but not passing, and within 9 weeks from the date the thread was made (So by October 16th).

For your thread, I voted YES, I think the 360 will surpass 2010 total EMEAA sales, but unless Kinect pulls wonders, the 360 will loose it's lead quickly. I voted by October 16th in my last thread, and the sales difference has been holding as I predicted, so I'm sticking with it. The Week Oct 16th data is published 360 should be ahead of the PS3 total EMEAA sales, or at least be within 10k of it, and pass it the following week. Leaving it to be ahead for 2 full weeks! :O!!!!

what seems most likely to happen is that 360 will slowly inch its way toward the lead until gt5 is released.  i expected more 360s sold this than what is posted due to the release of halo reach.

I think it will overtake before GT5, then overtake again in December sometime.  Even if the first HD GT moves the 300-400k some people are expecting it won't all be in EMEAA and the shiny black 360 Kinect will be the newer, hotter commodity in the weeks before what's-his-name's birthday.  Don't swear! 

The good news is those who celebrated PS3 passing 360 in Others earlier can break out the bubbly at least twice more this gen.  The way things are going they should get a case!  The end result still looks like a PS3 LT win in EMEAA but maybe not a huge one.  Then again whadoeyeno?

It will but it wont be over 1m again like in 2008 plus PS3 will re take it sooner or later(after $199 price cut next year or GT5).

Maybe a dumb/unrelated question but is there any reason why the 360 is selling more in EMEAA other then lower price?
