Thanks for the delayed notice.

Stop taking things out of context. That is NOT what I said in any way shape or fashion.

Stop with the fanboy crap. Don't you realize that three competitors in this industry is far better than two. Consumers win with lower prices and higher innovation. Lets hope that everyone does well.

I really hate to point this out, but even with 3 consoles, the prices were really high... except for the Wii... which was the only one with what I'd call major innovation unless you count higher graphics and some multimedia stuff a big step up. Also, Wii games are cheaper than 360/PS3 games... so, the lower prices doesn't seem to be happening.

I remember paying 30 bucks for a video games in the early 90's. Now they are double the cost but count in inflation and the spiraling expenses it takes to produce a game now. I think the video game industry is a relatively good bargain. It costs me 30 dollars for two tickets to the cinema and a bag of popcorn. As for the innovation, look at how much MS is spending just to have some original maps on GTA!!! Increased innovation is everywhere because Microsoft entered the ring.

I didn't read the entire thread and I'm not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but the cost of making the PS3 has been reduced to $400 from $800.

Go to Gamespot's news database if you need proof.

Note: I believe it was sometime in November, but I'm not sure.

This will only take a moment of your time. *steals your watch*

Those "spiraling" expenses for games are caused by the consoles being overpowered and more difficult to program for. The higher prices of the consoles themselves doesn't help much. High price of consoles means less people will be willing and able to buy the console, coupled with higher prices to make the games, means the games prices have to be higher to support it, and then less people are going to be willing to pay for those games because they are more expensive. Movie ticket prices are really extreme (though it's usually $10 or so, and including popcorn isn't really fair), but I believe movies cost more to make... and the prices of DVDs are much lower than games.

It's so funny to look back at these threads, now that Sony Gaming division just made 113 million bucks.

Yet at the same time, Sony as an investment was a losing proposition. Sony is down since the time of my post over 20%. Contrast to Nintendo being up over 50%. Who's laughing now?

Well ,in two quarters they have passed from 443 million in losses to 113 in benefit so they have improved a lot .

Besides ,werent Nintendo shares falling a lot recently ?

And you are doing a fine job at it.
