At PAX I went to the Duke Nukem presentation and played the game. During the presentation the rep stated that shortly after 3DRealms went under GearBox hired 75% of the studio. With 75% of the studio GearBox was able to save the majority of the company. GearBox then bought the rights to Duke Nukem.
So the question is will the new 3DRealms (GearBox) be able to improve on 3DRealms prior operations. It took 3DRealms 10 years to produce Prey and Duke Nukem Forever was in development for 12 years, GearBox has one year with the IP and the product is finished and ready for store shelves.
So will the new GearBox be able to produce the Duke Nukem IP? Will the new GearBox build a new IP with the help of the 3DRealms staff? What do you think 3DRealms will add to GearBox?
