Forums - General Discussion - Are Christians and North American's cowards?

This is just plain offensive, as an American I can't endorse this. Speak your mind but watch what you say, your post is ill willed and hypocriticle .

Some people here are trying to prove that Christianity is a new religion. Can you point out a verse from Bible where Christianity was declared as a religion? Do the term 'Christianity' exists? You say Jesus 'Christ'? But was his name Christ?

Jew is also not a different religion. Their religious book does not provide any verse which use the word 'Jew'.

The fact is that there is only one religion - Islam. From the beginning of the world. This is why Islam is the only religion who recognizes Moses (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh) as Prophets. You never find them preach 'Jewism' or 'Christianity'. Some people invented these words and try to portray as they are different religions.

Muhammad (pbuh) was foretold in the Bible. So is the Hindu scriptures talk about him.

Some Muslims may be extremists and I don't want to defend them. Some Christians are also extremists and I don't want to call the whole Christian world 'terrorist'.

But you can't blame the car if the accident is caused for the driver. Muslims and Christians are drivers of the car but some can't drive it and cause accidents. Blame them and not the religion. Because they talk about good things.

Osama hit the Twin Tower or Bush killed thousands of innocent people are not guided by the Quran or Bible. It is the people who chose their path. Why we try to defend them? We should read the holy books with contexts and not without contexts. Some people are very much happy to find out killing verses from Quran out of their contexts. This is evil practice. They try to spread the hatred among peace-loving people like this pastor.

It is not a surprise when Christians are targeted in the world, as Jesus once explained (John 15:18-19). As for patriotism, Christians belong to the kingdom of God before anything else. And out of that kingdom comes the power to love, even towards those that are hostile. This has nothing to do with America, politics, human rights, etc. And if you're talking about backbone, those that would die for Jesus (rather than fighting back physically) are brave and doing the right thing, as it's a spiritual war that Christians are engaged in (Ephesians 6:12-13).

Wikipedia is written by some person like you and me. So, I should not take that as Bible.

I am educated because I read the scriptures comparatively. You just answer my one question - Where is the name of Christianity and Judaism mentioned in the respective religious scriptures?

Christ came from Hebrew Massaiah which is translated into Greek 'Christos' and then re-introduced as 'Christ' in English. So, 'Christianity' came from translation of a translation. Now tell me, if your name is translated twice, can anyone recognize you? Should you be called by that name?

Google any empire and massacres have been committed by all of them. Don't forget European empires justified colonising the rest of the world by bringing 'Christianity' to the 'uncivilised heathens'. It also made it easier to kill them when they were degraded to mere beasts. And what do you expect Muslims to do when a Crusader army comes along? Welcome them with open arms? All 3 of the Abrahamic faiths are as violent as each other whether now or throughout history.

And I quote Richard Dawkins:-

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

''Google any empire and massacres have been committed by ALL of them.''

Exactly. So why is the finger pointed at the christians all the time???? And believe me, if muslims empires COULD  colonise the rest of the earth, the would most certanly bring ''Islam'' to the ''uncivilised heathens''. As for the crusades, maybe muslims shouldnt attack the Holy Land in the first place? Then the corrupted church would have no excuse to send soldiers to fight and die for their profits.

Richard Dawkins, like many other atheists, misunderstood the Bible by a lot, cant recognize a metaphor, takes the Bible too literally and totally dismiss the parts about the teaching of Jesus, which are MOST IMPORTANT parts of the Bible.

Written by a person like you and me?  The article I gave you is drawn on the works of hundreds if not thousands of scholars.  Just go to one link that is refrenced in it  like this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity and scroll down to the bottom and look at the list of scholars.  Are you saying that you're more of an expert than all of them or the hundreds perhaps thousands who's works were drawn from for the original article?

Oh and take a look at these passages:

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts 26:28&version=KJV

I absolutely agree. It's just wrong to say that as religion islam is somehow more violent than christianity. Past proves this wrong. It was basically Industrial revolution that started to change christianity more tolerant. Islam world needs the same change.

Stop.

It's highly ignorant to say that Christianity as a religion is as violent as Islam. Can you show us some Christian theology that promotes violence?

You apparently have not read the bible.

http://www.evilbible.com/

All that violence under the Old Covenant between God and the Jews doesnt apply to Christians who's relationship with God is based on the New Covenant which God established by sending Jesus Christ to die for all of mankind.

Not to mention that that entire retarded piece of shit web site is incredibly biased, hateful and it misunderstood Bible  by a lot.

The website simply quotes passages from the bible.  If that is disturbing to you, then that's a problem between you and your precious bible.

its not about quoting the Bible, its about how its presented. Very hateful and biased.

EDIT: And extremly ignorant

Yea, that's going to win you some arguments.

How about the eastern religions, or the American Indian religions?

How about the religions that are older then Islam, like Witchcraft?
